Something to think about....

We have the obligation, as coaches, to not only teach people how to move well, but to teach our athletes how it feels to move well.

Farmer Coordinates AT Team for World Athletics Outdoor Championships:

This July, the University of Oregon hosted the World Athletics Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field. This was the first time the event was held in the United States. It featured 1,812 athletes from 179 federations and refugee teams and was host to more than 150,000 spectators.

The event required nearly 1,600 volunteers to function, and Delaney Farmer, LAT, LMT, ATC, was one of the key participants. Farmer was chosen to lead the athletic training team at the event, a role he was familiar with after helping organize two previous outdoor championships and two United States Olympic Trials. After weeks of reviewing potential volunteers, he had his staff. The team encompassed more than 20 athletic trainers from seven different NATA districts. The staff assisting Farmer
included:

With the team confirmed, Farmer constructed a schedule that would spread the athletic training staff across seven locations. Overall, the event was a success, Farmer said. In addition to providing the athletic training staff with a unique opportunity to advance their skills, it offered networking opportunities with colleagues from across the country and the ability to collaborate
with other health care professionals outside of the athletic training profession.
