Just a few minor changes for 2026
2026 Big Red Sled Pulling Tractor Rules
General Rules
If the tractor is found unsafe by track officials it will not be allowed to pull.
Hook fees are $10.00
Skid plates and/or wheelie bars are REQUIRED on every tractor. Wheelie bars can't exceed 10 inches from rear of tire, and no more than 5 inches off the ground.
May run pump fuel only. No alcohol.
No extended wheelbase.
The hitch must be mounted solid or of a ¼ or ⅜ inch plate with no smaller than 1 ½” hole to hook. Other solid-mounted hitches will be allowed if they meet length and height limits, and all safety concerns. The hitch must be no higher than 13 inches from the ground and no longer than 13 inches from the center of the rear axle.
Front rims must be 4 inches or larger.
No tire chains, dual tires or factory-pulling tires. Cut tires are legal in all classes. No double cuts allowed. SEE SPECIFIC CLASSES FOR TIRE SIZE RULES.
If there is anything protruding anywhere on the tractor that looks like a safety hazard, you may be asked to correct the problem before the next pull. (Tractor will not be hooked if not able to get to the point of all hook due to weights or chain interference with wheelie bars or other brackets).
*ALL WEIGHTS MUST BE FASTENED SECURELY AND RULE WILL BE ENFORCED IF SEEN BY TRACK OFFICIAL*
No sliding weights
Tractor must stay within the boundaries of the track during the pull. If a tractor moves or goes across the rope in any way, the driver will be disqualified. No measurement will be taken.
If two (2) pullers go out of the gate for a full pull, a pull off will be held after the last tractor in that class has pulled.
The pull will end when forward movement of the sled stops, or when the sled goes beyond the end of the track.
If any tractor is having problems, and it is your turn to pull you may drop to the last puller in your class.
All tractors must be operated in a safe manner at all times. NO ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS WILL TOLERATED.
Anyone who has grievance pertaining to the weight, safety, tire size, hitch height, or engine requirements need to contact any track official BEFORE the pull starts so the problem can be addressed before the pull begins.
All pullers must sign waivers. Anyone 17 years or younger must have a parent or guardian signature.
Pullers must have tractors on the track one hour before pull begins to allow ample time for safety check and weigh-in for the pull. There will be a puller's meeting just prior to the start of the pull.
Anything falling from the tractor during the pull will end your pull. The driver will be disqualified and no measurement will be taken.
Flagman is your official. Flagman’s decision is final.
In case of rain, once the pull has begun only trophies will be given for classes that have been completed.
Adult supervision for children (12 years and younger) is allowed and encouraged.
Helmets must be worn by children (12 years and younger) with no exceptions.
No obscenities on tractors or participants' clothing.
No obscene language or gestures on the track.
Driver must remain in the seat at all times. Shifting the driver's weight is allowed. NO bouncing or rocking of the tractor will be allied. Pullers will be disqualified and no measurement will be taken.
The factory exhaust is accepted.
Every tractor must have fenders.
No riding on wheelie bars. This will result in disqualification.
All decisions by the track official are FINAL.
IF THE TRACTOR OR PARTICIPANT CAN NOT MEET THE ABOVE RULES THE DRIVER WILL NOT PULL
