Saturday we headed to Steel Wheels bmx to attend the first state qualifier of the season. Now, keep on mind we took all last season off and have only been to the track twice since the first of the year. So we are a bit rusty, but we will definitely get there! With that being said,
The Beast had a full gate (8 riders) and was hanging out mid pack for moto 1. Moto 2 he was looking at about 3rd but then slipped back a couple spots making it to where he missed the main. What he gained was realizing he still has it in him! Just got to get back into shape. The fact that he is proud of himself is all that matters!
Track Rat had a total of 5 riders. She was so determined to make her main. She said she kept telling herself "you got this just keep going" and she kept going alright making it into her main and walking away with a 4th place for the day! She was so proud of herself that she cried! She couldn't believe it!
That is what it's about! Having fun, believing in yourself, and being proud of yourself! That is something that is worth far more than any trophy can give! Safe to say, it was a great evening and a great start to our first season back!

Welcome back MoHawk fans.
It's been awhile since we've hit the track. But last night we ventured out to Steel Wheels BMX for some fun. This yr is a special yr for us as we honor 2 special people. One is battling Breast Cancer and one is battling Burkitt B Cell Lymphoma Cancer. The kids have chosen to run Black with Pink this season. Some may not know but our little Track Rat and the Kinleigh both ride for the amazing Tuffgurlz team ran by the legendary Bmx hall of famer Debbi Kelsow.
As we headed out yesterday we wasn't looking for wind. We was looking for the adventure and seeing friends we hadn't seen in awhile. We miss getting to the track. But with life sometimes it makes it hard to have fun and enjoy it. But with that all said. Here is our little race report and some pictures.. short clips and racing videos. Of last night.
And thanks to the Jackie and her team for another fun filled night.

This weekend was the weekend that we have all as bmxers fought so hard for. This weekend was state finals. Wow. What a day. What a season. What a year. Our season was cut short because of the crazy year we have had. We had to crunch all the qualifiers into a short time. But. We made it. Yesterday at finals was one for the books.
Our BEAST fought HARD. He raced some really fast kids. He walked away with number 3 in state. But he also ended the season with something worth way more than a plate, trophy, or certificate could ever give him. He walked away with tears in his eyes because he was so proud of himself. At the beginning of the season he made goals for himself. One of them goals was learning to be more aggressive and not back down. Let me tell you. Moto 1 of the state finals was THE BEST round for him all season. He walked away with a smile on his face from ear to ear with tears in his eyes as all he could say was "Did you see that? I did it" THAT! THAT is what it is about! Nothing could compare to him reaching goals he created for himself and being so proud of himself! As humans, we all are our own worst enemy. Kane definitely knows how to get into his own head and doesn't see just how talented he truly is. No matter how much people try showing and telling him. Yesterday, he finally seen with his own eyes, just what everyone has been trying to tell him.
Track Rat also went out and raced 7 experts, she is the newest, and only, 5 EXPERT for Indiana! Some may not agree. But that girl try's hard. That girl will smile from start gate to finish line and say "I went super fast. I did my best and I had fun" and thsts what it's about. Having fun. Doing your best. And being proud of yourself and believing in yourself. Maddi is the definition of a child that believes in herself. That girl just has such a happy soul. We could all learn something from her. Being the only 5 expert maddi walked away with number 1 for state this season! Let me tell ya! Her smile lit up the whole building! Her favorite part is when Barney Goodwin walked up to her and congratulated her! She said that made her feel special. Which I mean, she totally is! She is starting to find her real drive for pushing herself, which only means things are only going to get better for her!
These kids... they amaze us every single day with their big hearts, talent, passion, and drive for this sport and anything else they put their minds to. We cant wait to see where these kids go in life and in this sport. Just honored we get a front row seat to watch it all!

This weekend was a pretty eventful weekend and was a success. Although they didnt come home with the win but they came home safe and smiling with more knowledge to move onto the next challenge. On Saturday we had home track advantage with holding our Indiana state race qualifier at Hire Park BMX. The TrackRat was able to finally have a class of just her age and not older class. She came across the line with 3rd place for the day and a smile from ear to ear. Even though she dont have a compilation bone in her body. I feel sorry for her class when she does catch on to it. (Following in big brothers foot steps).
The BEAST has a very tough class of 10x this year. He went out and layed down so to speak. Jumping and pumping everything in site. He was able to WOW the crowd with his RADitude and come home with a well deserved 2nd place.
In the way home late Saturday night we got an invite Coach Rocket (Bobby Jordan) to the Fort Wayne Bmx Gold cup Qualifier. He fought even hard all day clawing his way to the top. Came up short but still made his main and came home 4th overall. He brought home more knowledge and what he needs to work on. We enjoyed the much needed guy day out. Next stop on the state qualifier list in Columbus BMX on the weekend of the August 29th.

Saturday we decided to make a last minute decision to travel to Evansville Indiana for the state qualifier. The beast and track Rat sure showed up! They both raced some very fast kiddos! The beast that everyone knows and loves sure came out. He was racing one 10 expert and four 11 intermediates. Got 2nd during moto 1. Transferring straight to the main. Main event came and he dominates the track getting 1st! We havent seen him ride like that in a LONG time. Track Rat raced with a smile on her face all three rounds getting 3rd all three rounds in her total points class. The track was fun, fast, and had a very welcoming atmosphere. We sure love our bmx family and friends! We had special visitors that came and supported the kiddos and finally got to see, with their own eyes, their passion for the sport. It was a great time and we hope to make the trip again!
