Here is a podcast I was listening to with Ryron Gracie and attorney Andrew Branca about concealed carry and what happens if you do shoot someone. It’s very good. I know a lot of people who carry a gun every day and think that it’s going save them and it might, but you might end up in prison as well. Most people that do carry that I have talked to think that they don’t need to learn any form of hand-to-hand self defense. They will literally tell me”oh I’ll just shoot them.” It is just as important to know how to hold onto your weapon as it is using it. Approximately 10% of law enforcement officer homicides involve officers being shot and killed with their own service weapons. Historical data from earlier decades showed higher rates (around 12% to 20%) before the widespread adoption of advanced weapon-retention holsters and specialized training. Those are men and women who train with their weapon for their line of work. Jocko Willink a Navy seal and seal team six leader was asked in a podcast what he thinks the best self-defenses are. He said number one was to run away. Next was a gun because if you know you’re gonna be in a place where you’re gonna need to defend yourself against deadly violence the gun is number one. Next he said was Brazilian jiu-jitsu (not the sport kind) 3rd was Boxing/kick Boxing and or Muay Thai. At 362 we have BJJ classes Monday through Friday 530 to 7 and we have kickboxing classes 7 to 8 Monday Wednesday Friday. Come check out a free class.

362’s newest and well deserved blue belt Trevor Friesner. This dude was working his butt off to earn that belt a while ago, and was so close to earning it but had to step away due to life and that happens sometimes. He came back and wanted to test his skills in a tournament and won himself a gold medal. He’s one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet but is a monster on the mat and this is a well-deserved belt promotion.

We showed up and fought hard, we won and lost as champions and everyone brought home hardware. Congratulations to everyone!
