Yes!
π¨π¨Trigger Warningπ¨π¨
Been there done that. Even ejected twice (once as a player and once as a coach)! After 1,500+ innings pitched, lots of strikeouts, too many walks, nearly 150 HRβs allowed, a bunch of wins and a bunch of loses over the course of 14 years played, I can say with confidence, even though frustrating in the moment, there is no way umpires determine how we perform, how long we play the game and what type of player/coach we are. They will make mistakes just as we do as players, coaches, teachers, parents, employees, bosses, business owners or any other type of profession. Shoot, even big league umpires arenβt perfect.
Letting them live rent free in our head is OUR issue and will without a doubt affect us. While at times it may seem horrible and be a determining factor in a game, when itβs all said and done they WILL NOT be the reason for our success or lack of it.
