I was hesitant to share this at first, however as I reflecting on the day, I realized that this is what being a teacher is all about, having an impact on our students. One of my young students was struggling tonight in class, she just wasn't herself. She was giving up (which wasn't her)and so I stopped and I asked what was going on. She was shook up by some of the rough circumstances within her life. We spoke about the idea that it is okay to fail and fall, it is not okay to quit. In a way training is a metaphor for life. You will fall, you will get knocked down, it is the decision to get back up that matters. We agreed that anytime for the rest of the workout when I said "I believe she would yell "you believe". Now imagine this little girl yelling at the top of her lungs yelling YOU BELIEVE!!! That impacted me. Much respect, OSU!
