Bay Area RC Club Bay Area RC Club, Escanaba, MI Welcome to the Bay Area RC Club page. We are an affiliated Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) club #1172.

We are a group of aircraft enthusiasts that gather together several times a week in the summer, and on the weekends in the winter. All areas of flight are attempted, mostly achieved, and regardless of the outcome, a great time is had by all. Everyone is welcome to join us at our field and whatever your skill level may be, get a chance to enjoy the hobby.

Flight operations for Thursday July 16th, 2026 have been cancled due to excessive forest fire smoke from Minnesota and Canada forest/wild fires. It looks like things will be clearing some time Friday and we will be back to normal flight operations on Saturday July 18th, 2026. Thank you for your patence in this matter.

Safety is the name of the game this week. Here is Tuesday's weather forcast:

TuesdayPartly sunny, then gradually becoming sunny and hot, with a high near 102. West wind 5 to 10 mph.

So to keep members safe, all model avation operations will be suspended on 14 July 2026 and will resume on Thursday 1 July 2026 when temps are back in the low to mid 80's

Flight operations tomrrow are looking good, here is the wether forcast for 23 May 2026 for Riverland Aro park: "A 20 percent chance of showers between 11am and noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 61. East wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph." Should be a decent day to fly. Hope to see folks out there!
