THANK YOU STRIKE ZONE ACADEMY! Our Wolves have been blessed to be part of the StrikeZone Academy training program. In the past year it has transformed many of our players and helped them take the next step in their games. We have seen athletes graduate to regional teams and become some of the best of their age, performing at high levels against national competition. Our pack has 24/7 access to the facility and can train anytime needed. The StrikeZone instructors have made connections with our athletes that have changed their lives on and off the field. These are just a few things we can say, but all of the moments and memories can’t be put into words. All we can say is thank you and congratulations! We cannot wait for the fall Academy to start!

8U-11U Baseball Players, are you in travel baseball but not sure where to start? Our RED teams are built for you. We focus on DEVELOPMENT first — and our year-round program has a proven track record of success at every age level.

We train all year to maximize reps in a fun, positive environment led by Gannon athletes, pro coaches, and dedicated volunteers. Academy training is the best in the area and it kicks off on September 16th!

Our promise is simple: consistent, quality training that helps athletes become their best on and off the field. We intentionally keep our program small so we can prioritize development over managing a ton of teams. Playing time is earned and this is a key life lesson for young athletes. Players get ∼300 hours of training per year plus local games and tournaments for about $12/hour — less than babysitting!

Want to be evaluated? Sign up at www.eriejrseawolves.com or if you’re on the fence, just email us and come in for an academy session and use that as your tryout. Our training is different than anyone else, come see it for yourself!

🐺 WELCOME TO THE PACK — 2026–2027 8U ERIE JR. SEAWOLVES ⚾

The next chapter starts now.

Our 8U SeaWolves bring together 11 young ballplayers, including five returning players from last season and six new faces joining the pack.

Returning: Caden Bowers, Daniel LeBouef, Lincoln Ponsford, Aiden Hammer & Matthew Joint

New to the Pack: Preston Kramer, Milo Breneman, Max Stubenhofer, Rayden Rodriguez, Cam Cornelius & Auggie Whiting

At 8U, development comes first. We will spend countless hours practicing, learning the game, building skills and preparing these boys for the years ahead. Our tournament schedule will remain mostly local so we can focus on development while still competing and putting what we learn into action.

We’re building a team-first culture built on character, discipline, accountability and respect. Respect for the game, our teammates, our coaches, our opponents and the umpires.

Mistakes are going to happen. Strikeouts will happen. Games will be lost. That’s baseball.

What matters is how you respond.

We want these boys to learn how to compete, how to handle adversity, how to fix their mistakes and most importantly, how to never quit.

They’re still 7 and 8 years old, so we’ll work hard, but we’ll have plenty of fun along the way. We want them to love baseball, love their teammates and be proud of what it means to wear the Jr. SeaWolves jersey.

We’re going to develop every player, compete every time we take the field and build a foundation that prepares these boys for the teams and challenges ahead.

And we want our families to grow with us. This is bigger than one season. We’re building something together.

The scoreboard will take care of itself. Our job is to build the players, teammates and young men they will become.

🐺 WORK HARD. PLAY TOGETHER. NEVER QUIT.

LET’S GET TO WORK.

We are still looking to add ONE more player to complete our roster. If you’re interested in having your player evaluated, please visit eriejrseawolves.com to schedule an evaluation.

🥎🐺The Lady SeaWolves kicked off their first practice today — and the ladies were ON FIRE!🔥
We had awesome instruction from Gannon Softball players Makenzie & Carlyn and we thank you both!

The team worked through softball fundamentals:
Throwing: Focusing on proper side-facing alignment, overhand arm action, and a strong step-through toward the target for power and accuracy.
Catching & Fielding: Tracking the ball into an open glove, using two hands whenever possible, and funneling ground balls to the center of the body at the belly button before getting the feet set to throw.
Hitting: Squaring up to the pitch with a balanced stance to drive the ball cleanly into fair territory.
Base Running: Putting speed, sharp angles, and timing to work — with a fun relay race twist to keep it competitive while learning to advance safely without early leads.
The lady Wolves even got in some hand-eye coordination work with a hand, foot, and cone game, and partnered up for team drills! These fundamentals matter because it prevents injuries by building correct habits, they build confidence in high-pressure moments, they lay the groundwork for more advanced skills, and they promote team success — reliable fielding and accurate throwing keep the game moving and keep runs off the board.

The energy was amazing by these lady Wolves and we are so excited for what’s ahead. This is just the beginning ladies! The future is bright and this team is ready to put in the work!

Our 9U boys kicked off the season today and showed up ready to work!

We locked in on the fundamentals — throwing with proper side-alignment and stepping to the target, catching and fielding by tracking the ball in and funneling it to the center, staying balanced at the plate to drive it fair, and smart base running with sharp angles and good timing. We mixed in a relay race to keep the energy high and finished with some hand-eye coordination games.
Learning it the right way from the start keeps them safe, builds confidence, and lays the groundwork for bigger plays down the road.

One thing our veteran coaches always say — the kids who put in a little work in the off-season pick up new concepts so much faster in the spring. They aren’t spending April re-learning how to stand in the box, so we can jump right into base running, teamwork, and real game situations.

At 9, off-season work is about keeping baseball fun. It stops that “I forgot how to do this” feeling, keeps them healthy, and lets them start next season a step ahead — with zero pressure to be perfect. A big thank you to Joey for helping out again and thank you to our parents and volunteers for coming out today seeing the first practice!

It was a great first day for our 9u Wolves! This group is hungry and ready to play!

8️⃣U Wolves are back on the Eriez Magnetics field — first practice in the books!💪🏼
Our 8U Wolves kicked off today focusing on the core of 8U baseball — throwing, catching, fielding, and hitting the RIGHT way, plus starting to learn situational play. Nailing the fundamentals now is how we avoid bad habits later! We’re lucky to have our veteran coaches back for another season who really know how to break it down:

Fielding: Getting low, soft hands out front, and fast feet to get in position.
Throwing: It all starts with the four-seam grip and a clean, smooth arm action — it keeps young arms healthy while building accuracy and velocity.
Hitting: Balanced stance, clean bat path, and a consistent load — the foundation for hard, consistent contact.

The boys had an awesome day out there and brought great energy even with a little bit of rain.

Huge thank you to Ryker & Joe (who cleaned and dragged our fields for the day) that started together 5 years ago when they were 8 yrs old. They wanted to pay it forward to the next generation and help our coaches and our volunteers make Day 1 a success!

The 8U team is getting ready to enter their academy sessions at the Erie Strike Zone Academy with Coach Hartken! These sessions will focus on consistent, fundamental training of hitting, fielding and throwing in small, high rep groups to prepare the team for the upcoming season.
