After taking some time to reflect and process what I endured, I believe it is time to share a change in my professional journey. Buckle up, this is a long one.

My toxic trait is believing that everyone has the same heart as me and I am praying to God that this is the last time I let people drain me of my spirit, my kindness, my creativity, and my knowledge.

At the beginning of June, I was told that my position (assistant general manager) was being ‘eliminated’ and that this business (not using names for legal reasons) no longer needed my services. With no help or communication from my nonprofit’s board, I am not sure what is in store for the programming I have spent the last couple of years pouring my heart and soul into. There is way more to this story than I can put into words right now.

I have spent the last six weeks working on myself, letting myself heal from the toxicity and stress that people and that business caused. Ultimately, a group of people continue to try to ruin me as a professional and to kill my spirit. They made the fatal mistake of thinking that I am stupid - I have proof of all the incidents, harassment, documentation of retaliation threats, constant promises of a raise or promotion, and more. I will never be a scape goat for people that have no idea what it takes to run a successful facility or properly tiered programming for hockey & figure skating.

I will never trust anybody with my business knowledge and expertise the way I did with these people. While I am grateful for the opportunities that I had and the experience I have gained, I also have learned so many valuable lessons. I put my time, effort, and trust into a company that doesn’t care about their customers or employees. And my experience deserves to be heard, thank god for freedom of speech.

This group and others can keep talking, I know what I did and did not do. I know that the treatment and verbal abuse caused me to display reactive behavior, making me look crazy. I own my part of that, I should have seen through the lies and deceit.

Ultimately, I know my heart. My students and their families who continue to support me know my heart and trust my knowledge.

My journey as a coach & entrepreneur in the skating space isn’t over. I can promise that 🩷⛸️

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Memorial Day is more than a holiday — it is a time to reflect on the courage, selflessness, and dedication of those who served our country with honor.

We remember the heroes who are no longer with us, hold close the memories they left behind, and extend our deepest gratitude to the families who carry their legacy every day. Because of their sacrifice, we are able to enjoy the freedoms we often take for granted.

May we never forget the cost of freedom, and may we always honor those who gave everything for our nation. 🇺🇸❤️
