Fullbody EDT “A” session 2 #: 4/19 Stats
Second session of my “A” day for escalating density training. I have about 3-4 weeks of this cycle left
Quick summary as always; the main goal in this rep scheme is to perform as many reps as possible of two different movements in a 20 minute block
The goal being to improve my conditioning, recovery ability between sets, fat loss, and improve overall cardiovascular metrics
This training will also help build muscle to some degree, but the goal is more metabolic for this cycle
I had noticed the limiting factor in my training was my endurance and physical stress management. So instead of ignoring it, I’ll take 5-6 weeks to address it using 3 aerobic interval sessions and 2 full body EDT sessions a week. Then back to more traditional strength attributes
In this session I was able to add 4 reps of both backsquat and weighted chin-ups, moving from 20 reps to 24 reps in both movements within the 20 minute block
In the second block I changed the exercise variations used so, nothing that interesting to note there.
I did find it interesting that I was able to perform 40 reps on incline db press at 70 lbs with pretty deep ROM
I’ll end with a reflection/observation: normally I find it silly to expect anything significantly noticeable after only 1.5 weeks of a routine. However my conditioning apparently was so poor that even just 1.5 weeks has improved my sleep, HR, inter-set recovery, and baseline work capacity. I expect to be able to really “open” the throttle up when on my next cycle in a month
