Stewards know your rights

If an employee requests a steward, such requests shall not be unreasonably denied. Reasonable time cannot be measured by a predetermined factor.” (JCIM: Article 17.3, pg. 152) “…when an employee asks to see a steward, a union steward/employee will be released within two (2) hours of his/her request. Normally the steward/employee will be released before the end of the tour. However, if the steward/employee is not released within that time frame, the steward/employee must be released immediately upon the beginning of his/her next tour of duty. In the event a steward or employee is delayed until their next tour, the steward/employee should notify the supervisor of the prior request.” (JCAM: Q&A – Question 7, pgs. 157-158)

We regret to inform you that Stewards college is cancelled for 2021. the college we use is still in lock down and we will be unable to secure another location on such short notice. We want to give you the best training available and do not think that a 40 hour zoom training would give the experience we desire to install in our stewards. As soon as we get a facility for 2022 we will post dates and location.

American Postal Workers union members!!
On November 21,2020 The third and final general salary increase became effective it will show up on your paychecks dated December 11 the final increase will be 1% of the salary effective on September 20, 2018 PSEs will receive an additional 1% as well totaling 2% because PSE you do not receive Cost Of living allowances.

Overall employees will have receive 3.4% in salary increases under the 2018 2021 contract excluding the coal adjustments for Career employees or any extra pay increases for PSE’s.
Even though this is the last general salary increase under the contract, there is also a possibility of two additional COLAs for career employees before the expiration of the contract in 2021.
This would be a perfect time to attend Stewards College to learn to protect your rights, and those of your fellow employees.

It has been brought to the APWU attention that there is approximately 2000 individuals that the retropay will not be on the September 4 . We were made aware that the individuals that the retroactiove pay is not on their checks are either in saved grade or in a salary exception . As soon as I get more information I will provide it to the field .
