The Bridlespur Hounds are currently under the very capable direction of our Acting Huntsman, Tess Fleischli, who has generously taken up the horn for us this season. Tess, however, will be moving on to adventures and endeavors of her own at the close of the season, which leaves us looking down the road toward Bridlespur’s next chapter.

And possibly looking for you.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to stand at the covert with a pack of hounds around your horse, put the horn to your lips, and be the one everyone else is waiting to follow?

We are looking for someone interested in becoming the next Huntsman of the Bridlespur Hounds.

Bridlespur is an old club, founded in 1927, hunting a wonderful piece of Missouri country and carrying forward nearly a century of sporting tradition. We are also a friendly club, and we would like our next Huntsman to be someone who wants to become part of our community.

There are few jobs left in the modern world that involve a horse, a horn, a pack of hounds, an autumn morning, and absolutely no certainty about what is going to happen next.

This is one of them.

Would you like to carry the horn with us?

Maybe next season, that pack out in front will be yours to lead.

Our first ever Sporting Day was a great success!
