In the car or on the course, we are driven to build Rally as a sport and community in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Through an inclusive multi-level race series, educational opportunities and strong partnerships, we are sharing our love of racing with the world. Everyone is encouraged to participate, as a volunteer, competitor or spectator – come check out a race to see what is all about!

The most obvious thing I would tell you is that you definitely CAN rallycross. It’s just driving.

But if you’re on the fence, here are three things to do right now:

1. Come to an event and spectate! Ask anyone from the NWRA team for the best spots to watch, check out a few different vantage points and talk to the drivers. Trust me… everyone will give you their best tips 😁

2. Go for a ride along. At any race, you can ride along during competition runs. Ask one of our staff members to help you find a driver or simply ask around. So many drivers love to take passengers and the ones that don’t, are super nice when they say they’d prefer not. See what the course is like and get a feel for the competition.

3. Just sign up. Bring your daily driver or grab something cheap off Craigslist and see what happens.

Getting ready for a summer of rallycross? These are the most important things to pack for a summer rallycross weekend in the Pacific Northwest.

Summer rallycross in the PNW can throw a lot at you in a single weekend. Blazing sun, chilly mornings, and the occasional surprise rain shower are all on the table. Pack smart and you'll be focused on racing. Pack light and you might be miserable by noon.

These are the summer must-haves that are always on our packing list:

Sun Protection: Long sleeves, hat, sunscreen, and a pop up tent for shade.

Hydration and Nutrition: Cooler with ice, water, electrolytes and saltier snacks than usual.

Bonus Cooling Gear: Cooling towels and a water sprayer for you and your car.

But don’t get caught out… It's still the PNW. Pack warm layers, a waterproof shell, long pants and an extra pair of shoes… Just in case.

Unpopular opinion: You’ll probably have more fun in the Fit.

If building a dedicated rallycross car is your dream, go for it. If you want to buy a stage rally car and see how far you can take it in the sport, we are fully here for it.

But if the only thing stopping you from trying rallycross is thinking you need something expensive or purpose-built, we’re here to help you get racing.

It doesn’t have to be a Honda Fit. It doesn’t even have to be something new. If you have a daily driver that can handle a rallycross course, you’re closer than you think.

Start with what you have or something cheap and fun. You can always upgrade later and when you do, you’ll be making the decision from a place of experience and knowledge.

You don’t want to miss this!
If you’re on the fence about racing at Rallycross Fest, you have one week to make up your mind!

Registration opens on Tuesday, June 9th at 7pm and spots always go fast.

Rallycross Fest is the largest rallycross event in the world, drawing competitors from all over the country to battle across multiple surfaces, technical sections and wide-open fast stretches. Times from both days are combined and the top finishers in each class celebrate on the podium Sunday… champagne included.

Between sessions, there are food trucks, swag, vendors and plenty of room for friends and family to soak in the atmosphere. It's a full weekend experience.
