I’ve been working with Dakota Bush for quite some time now, and one of the most rewarding parts of the job is seeing continued progress from fight to fight.

Every camp, every cut, and every weigh-in, he’s making better decisions that lead to a more efficient and predictable weight cut. The goal isn’t just to make weight—it’s to continue improving, finding what works best for him, then building on that foundation.

Came across this clip from of and talking about one of the most basic (yet overlooked) tools we use to shed some weight … steps. 👣

One’s the UFC bantamweight champion, the other is headlining tonight’s event — both fully bought into the process, and both absolutely LOVE when I tell them to track and increase their steps (as you can see 😅). Success in any area isn’t just about talent, it’s about ex*****on, and in some cases, that means embracing drawn-out, boring work.

When you’re pushing the limits of weight loss, it’s not always about eliminating certain foods, or eliminating food altogether, it’s about keeping things simple and earning more through output.

I’m proud of the discipline they showed all camp long, dialing in their nutrition, making weight the right way, and preparing for the altitude that comes with fighting in Mexico City. Win or lose, I stand by my athletes. The work never goes unnoticed. 🥊

My brother n is first in mma to EVER hold titles in THREE different weight classes. Something everyone dreams about, but nobody’s actually ever done… until now. 🐐

Through multiple injuries, fight week flu, work, and life — every obstacle that could’ve been an excuse became fuel. I’ve said it before and he just keeps proving me right: Any place. Any time. Anyone. Theres nothing that can keep this man down.
•
He’s one of the best people I’ve ever met, both in and out of the cage. If the doesn’t call, it’d be a shame for us all because EVERY TIME he steps in the cage he brings a crowd and guaranteed fireworks. If this was the retirement fight, what a legendary way to go out. I’m proud of you always my brother, and if not? I’ve got baaaad news for A FEW divisions that should be on notice. 👀

Dear Dustin,
I have so much to thank you for — as a fan, as a friend, and as someone inspired by your journey. Thank you for the memories I’ll never forget… for the trips around the world, the countless reasons to laugh, smile, and cry. Thank you for the experiences, the relationships, and the people I’ve met because of you.
You’ve set an incredible example — as a father, a friend, a fighter, and a husband. You started as a kid chasing a dream, and along the way, you helped others like me chase ours too.
I have so much respect for the way you’ve carried yourself through the highs and lows. You handle victory and defeat with the same grace, humility, and heart. What you’ve done for your community, your family, and those around you has set a bar we can all strive for.
Through it all, you’ve always managed to shine brighter than any win or loss.
The entire world — especially your family, friends, and team — is proud of you. But I can say with 100% certainty that I am proud of you.
This life you’ve built was earned through nothing but hard work, heart, and determination. No one deserves it more.
