Over 160 years ago, more than two years after the emancipation proclamation was signed, Union troops finally arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas to bring the news of freedom to 250,000+ enslaved African Americans.

Today and everyday we celebrate black excellence, resilience and strength. It also serves as an ongoing reminder to stay educated and to fight for racial equity within our communities.

Now that most of the crew has returned home from ✨Skatecationland✨ this tournament reminded us what derby should be, great competition and even greater company. Our knockouts brought their “Egg” game every single jam and we left inspired and hungry for more than just hard boiled eggs!

Thank you Maine Roller Derby, organizers, officials and all of the leagues that shared the track with us.
