Winning Wednesday: Jerod Brown

This is what training for your life looks like.

Jerod has been a Personal Training client with us for about three years, and if you know Jerod, you know he’s a hunter.

When he started PT, he had a very specific goal: get stronger and build the conditioning he needed for big game hunting.

These aren’t easy hunts. Long hikes, mountains, snow, rough terrain, keeping up with guides, and having enough left in the tank to actually enjoy what he went there to do.

Jerod committed and went all in.

He rarely misses a session unless he’s traveling. And over the last three years, he’s gone on some pretty incredible hunts. I’ll usually get a message from him while he’s out there telling me how much his training has helped.

But this is all him.

He had a reason to train. He committed to it. And he kept showing up.

Now he’s stronger, healthier, able to keep doing the things he loves, and the physical transformation is one hell of a bonus.

That’s what Training should do.

It shouldn’t just change how you look.

It should change what you’re capable of.

Proud of you, J!

Your life should require strength.

Carry your own stuff.

Play with your kids.

Help somebody move something heavy.

Run when you need to.

Get off the floor without thinking about it.

Be useful.

We’re not training just to look fit.

We’re building bodies that are capable of doing things.

For as long as possible 💪🏼

Life is what you make of it.

The more you pour into yourself, your mindset, your health, and the people around you, the more you’ll get out of this life.

You don’t have to change everything at once. Just make the choices that move you forward. Then have the discipline to keep making them.

Build a life you’re proud of.

You can see it. 😎

I was looking around the gym today and one thing really stood out to me…

Our athletes’ bodies are changing.

More muscle. More confidence. Men and women who just look stronger than they did a few months ago.

And that’s without even talking about the weight they’re lifting, the things they can do now, or how much their fitness has improved.

It’s happening right in front of us.

That’s what consistency does.

Really fun to watch this group continue to change.

Happy Saturday CFE, let’s keep grinding 💯

25 years later, we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We remember the first responders who ran toward danger. We remember the families whose lives changed forever. And we remember how, in the days that followed, people came together.

Today we train with gratitude.

For our health.
For our freedom.
For the people beside us.
For those who serve our communities.
And for those who never came home.

Never forget. 🇺🇸

Everybody starts somewhere.

This is what starting looks like here.

Before jumping into group classes, we slow things down. We teach. We coach. We help you understand the movements and build confidence.

You don’t need to be in shape first.
You don’t need to know what you’re doing.

That’s our job.

Your job is just to show up and be willing to learn.

Winning Wednesday: Character When It Counts

Some wins tell you a lot more about a person than what they can do in the gym.

This is Grant. He’s trained with us off and on since high school, and he’s always been a freak athlete. But as impressive as his ability is, his character is what stands out most.

This past weekend, Grant participated in the Dallas 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.

In full firefighter gear, weighing close to 70 pounds, he climbed 110 flights of stairs—representing the 110 stories of the Twin Towers. He climbed in honor of Lt. John F. Ginley, carrying his name with him every step of the way.

Grant finished in just over an hour.

But here’s the part that didn’t surprise me at all: he stayed until the last person finished.

Because that’s exactly who he is.

I’ve watched him do the same thing in our gym for years. He can be one of the first ones finished, but he’s not done. He’s pushing, encouraging, and making sure the last person gets through it.

That’s not fitness. That’s character.

And I have no doubt that if Grant had been called to climb those towers on September 11th, he would have climbed as high as he possibly could. Not only because he has the physical ability, but because of the character he possesses.

We’re incredibly proud of this young man and the firefighter he’s become.

His department got a good one.
