We strive to maintain a balance between teaching and fun, structure and freedom, and supervision and competition. It remains our view that these years are filled with fun and excitement for our participants. We

recognize that every single player is different, and so we try to organize teams by placing kids into groups where each feels comfortable participating. At CMEK, our coaching staff is specifically trained for their leadership positions. The coaches are passionate and display a superior ability to interact with and instruct our players. Perhaps most importantly, each is trained to encourage young athletes through positive encouragement. Congratulations to Coach Eli and our dynamite girls team on a fantastic season. The girls improved each week and saved the best for last by winning their championship game. We are so proud of them.

Our Girls 7 Gold left team left no doubt who the best team in the 7th grade was in the Super League. Behind a total team effort, we defeated the #1 seed 36-33 to capture the Spring League Championship. Our girls made winning plays all game and as usual executed down the stretch. Up 1 late, we nailed two free throws to go up 3 with about 10 seconds to go. We had fouls to give and ultimately didn’t allow our opponent to get a shot off. We are so proud of this special team.

They crossed the bridge with one goal in mind: bring the hardware back to the burbs. Our girls took home the title in The Big Apple Classic. In the final the squad broke open a 3-point game late with a run that you would have had to see the believe.

Congrats to CMEK Boys 4 Black on winning the Jam Fest. There’s not a 4th Grade team on the planet who can touch this team when these boys are firing on all cylinders. They are going to challenge every record set by a class in the history of the program. For now, closets and shelves will need to be built in their rooms to accommodate the hardware and swag earned in league and tournament championships.

Congratulations to our 8th Grade Girls on winning the Spring League Championship (Red Division). If took a total team effort. In the semifinal, our girls had to match the physicality of a tough opponent; we escaped with a 5-point victory. Then, in the Final, we had to grind it out against a gritty team, narrowly winning by just 4 points. It was a terrific overall season in which the girls learned, improved and are better prepared for High School Basketball.

Our Girls 7 Black team saved the best for last. We ended our season by winning the Ball is in your Hands basketball tournament. All 7 girls contributed on both sides of the ball. Way to go girls!

Congratulations to Boys 4 Black on winning The Ball is in Your Hands Tournament. The squad once got the job done once again, albeit short handed. They’ve accumulated too many chips to count over the years. There’s not a Grade 4 team in the two-state area that could touch them when they’re on their game.

Congratulations to Girls 4 Black on winning The 1 Day Super Shootout Basketball Tournament. It was a total team effort throughout in which every player contributed on both sides of the ball. All 10 girls scored which demonstrated the depth of this great team. We are most proud of the girls for bouncing back from a tough defeat last tournament and showing they have what it takes to execute down the stretch to close games out.

Congratulations to Our Grade 3 Boys for winning the Spring Hoops Classic Basketball Tournament. The squad defeated a tough team from NYC by just 5 points in the Final. The boys continue to take down all comers on the circuit. And the best is yet to come.

Congratulations to our 7th Grade Boys from Englewood on winning the Spring Tuneup title in the . Our squad took the show on the road and ended the day with back to back victories over 2 tough opponents (Clifton and Staten Island). Make no mistake about; the boys are coming for more championships this season. And all eyes are already set on next year’s school league.
