🚨 TSSAA DEAD PERIOD 🚨
📅 June 22 – July 5

A reminder to all Charger Football players and families that the TSSAA Dead Period is June 22nd thru July 5th.

During the Dead Period:
🏈 No practices
💪 No weight training or conditioning
🏟️ No open facilities
👥 No coaching, observing, or contact between coaches and players involved in the sport

This mandatory break allows everyone time to rest, recharge, and spend time with family before we get back to work.

Enjoy your break, stay safe, and come back ready to attack the rest of the summer.

Happy Father’s Day from Central Charger Football!

“Boys watch what men do more than they listen to what men say.”

Today we celebrate all the fathers who lead with strength, love, sacrifice, and unwavering support. Thank you for every early morning, late night, ride to practice, word of encouragement, and lesson that helps shape our young men.

We also want to honor the father figures who stepped up when it mattered most—grandfathers, uncles, brothers, mentors, family friends, and every man who has chosen to make a difference in a child’s life.

To our coaches, thank you for being more than coaches. You mentor, encourage, challenge, and help develop these young men into leaders of character. The impact you make reaches far beyond football.

And today, we also recognize the incredible moms who fill both roles. To the mothers who have carried the responsibilities of both mom and dad, who have sacrificed, supported, and never stopped showing up—your strength, resilience, and unconditional love do not go unnoticed. Thank you for raising strong, respectful, and resilient young men.

It takes a village to raise a man of character, and we are thankful for every person who answers that call.

We’re seeing if there’s enough interest to place a group order for Charger letterman jackets. We need a minimum of 12 jackets to place the order for the price.

Cost: $200 per jacket

If ordered through us, each jacket will include:
✔️ McMinn Central “C” letter on the front
✔️ Your last name embroidered
✔️ Your graduation year on the sleeve
✔️ “Chargers” on the back

To keep our Letterman Jacket program consistent with school policy, jackets are available for purchase only by current Central High School students. We appreciate your understanding and support of our student-athletes and school traditions.

If you’re interested, send us a message or text. Once we have 12 committed orders with payment, we’ll place the order.

A great write-up in the Daily Post-Athenian highlighting our Chargers at 7v7! 🏈

Our players continue to put in the work this summer, competing, improving, and representing Charger Football the right way. We appreciate the coverage and support from our local community as we continue preparing for the upcoming season.

McMinn Central made the 90 minute voyage up the mountain to Blue Ridge to face off with unfamiliar opponents in Thursday’s 7-on-7 and had much success in Fannin County.

Monday: Off
Tuesday: Workouts 8–10 AM
Wednesday: Workouts 8–10 AM
Thursday: Workouts 8–10 AM
Friday: Off

Tuesday Evening: Varsity 7v7 at McMinn County High School at 6:00 PM.
Players need to be at McMinn Co High School by 5:45 PM.

Tuesday Morning: JV basketball players will be released from workouts at 8:30 AM to head to Polk County Play Day.

Inside the Charger Defense…

We had the opportunity to sit down with Defensive Coordinator, Coach Jalen Sharp to talk about summer workouts, the mindset of this year’s defense, and what Charger Nation can expect as the season gets closer.

Every rep matters. Every workout has a purpose. Our players are buying in, competing every day, and embracing the standard it takes to build a championship defense.

The foundation is being laid now, and the excitement is only growing. Hear directly from Coach Sharp as he shares his thoughts on the progress of our team, the intensity of practice, and the road ahead.

The work doesn’t stop. The mission is clear.
