A young USA Luge athlete recently experienced a crash on the PyeongChang track in South Korea that required medical care. Our team physician, as well as the Chief Medical Officer for the United States Olympic Committee, are closely monitoring the situation and providing support in collaboration with our staff and skilled trainers who are in Korea as well as with the International Luge Federation. Our thoughts are with the family, the athlete, and teammates during this time, and we extend our gratitude to the South Korean doctors who are providing our athlete with excellent care. On January 21, 2023, Team USA’s Goldie Miller and Haidyn Bunker competing in the North America Youth A Continental Cup in Park City, Utah Olympic Park captured their second GOLD medal in the women’s luge doubles event. Qualifying them to move on and travel to Pyeongchang, Gangwon Province, in South Korea where they will start preparing for the 2024 Youth Olympics. GREAT JOB LADIES!

On January 14, 2023, Team USA’s double luge team of Goldie Miller and Haidyn Bunker competing in the North America Youth A Continental Cup in Whistler B.C. captured the United States’ first GOLD medals in this newly sanctioned women’s FIL event. We wish them both ongoing success as they move forward to Park City, Utah this week for the next leg of the North American tour.

The team has been taking a few days to study and get acclimated to the track here in Bludenz. Haidyn and I have been getting in a few early morning runs and 2 or 3 more in the afternoon and things are looking good, the whole team will continue to practice this week before competing next week.

After two years of construction, we are all excited about getting an opportunity to compete on the newly completed track in Bludenz Austria.
