Why is fitness important?
⚡️Our perception of the physical world is influenced by our capability within in.⚡️
As you become more physically capable, your view of the world changes.
Physically capable individuals can more likely assess challenges with greater accuracy.
✅A good swimmer will estimate an underwater swim to be shorter.
✅A fit hiker will more accurately estimate the steepness of a hill, or more accurately assess the weight of a challenging object they need to move.
If you’re less capable, everything around you looks more daunting. New challenges are more discouraging. Trails look longer and steeper. Society looks more sickly and scary- and your ability to operate within it, more difficult.
If you’re just starting out with training or coming back from a long layoff, this is part of what makes it so challenging; things aren’t more physically difficult, they literally “look” more discouraging.
As you become more fit and your confidence grows, your mind directly alters the way you see your world, like a funhouse mirror altering perception of reality as you move from one room to another.
