🚨 I KNOW I’m not the only one who fell for this nonsense when first starting their fitness journey…
❌ “Carbs make you fat”
👉🏼 Carbs don’t make you fat. Chronic overeating of anything does. Stop fearing food and start fueling with it.
❌ “You can spot reduce belly fat”
👉🏼 No. lol. Doing 100 crunches a day won’t unveil your abs. Fat loss isn’t local, it happens all over. Focus on your whole body.
❌ “More sweat = a better workout”
👉🏼 I used to think if I wasn’t drenched, it didn’t count. Sweating just cools you down. It doesn’t mean you’re burning more fat/ making more progress. Train with intention and follow a plan.
❌ “Lifting weights makes women bulky”
👉🏼 NO. Lifting weights doesn’t make women bulky. Eating in excess, does. Strength training is what actually shapes and defines your physique.
❌ “1200 calories is the magic number for weight loss”
👉🏼 Great…for a toddler. 🤡 For adults, it leads to cravings, burnout, and stalled progress.
❌ “Tons of cardio is the key to fat loss”
👉🏼 I remember running myself into the ground for fleeting results. Cardio burns calories temporarily. Lifting builds muscle that burns fat 24/7. That’s the real fat-loss cheat code.
❌ “Cheat meals ruin your progress”
👉🏼 One meal won’t ruin your progress. Just like one salad doesn’t fix everything. It’s the guilt + all-or-nothing mindset that does. Food freedom = long-term results.
❌ “Fast results = better results”
👉🏼 I used to chase fast fat loss.
Lost 10 lbs. Gained back 15.
Crash diets ≠ Lasting results.
Consistency, patience, and strategy= lasting results.
❌ “You just need more willpower”
👉🏼 I thought I just needed more willpower and motivation too. What I really needed was structure, support, and a plan that fit my life. You’re not lazy—you’re just unaligned.
❌ “Rest days mean you’re slacking off”
👉🏼 I used to feel so guilty for resting. In fact, I’m STILL unlearning this. Rest isn’t lazy. Rest is where progress happens. Train hard, and recover smart!
Let’s stop clinging to what’s familiar and start building what actually works—for your body and your life. Its time. 💫
👇🏼 Which one of these have you believed for too long?
