Eastern Edge Guide Service, LLC

Eastern Edge Guide Service, LLC Duck Hunting Guide Service in Hyde County NC We hunt primarily in well managed duck impoundments. They are planted in corn, soybean, and millet. if needed.

We primarily hunt for puddle ducks in impoundments and divers, puddle ducks and seaducks in the Pamlico Sound. We currently run permanent blinds, layout blinds, and 2 Core Sound layout boats along with a larger tending boat. All located in and around Engelhard, NC as well as various other locations in the Pamlico sound. All hunting locations are well managed and never over pressured. We see a wide

variety of ducks in both our impoundments and the bay. Primarily hunt, Wigeon, Pintails, gadwalls, Mallards, Black Ducks, Green Winged Teal, Ringnecks, redheads, blue bills, buffleheads, canvasbacks, and goldeneyes. We also see a good amount of tundra swans and if you desire you can apply for a permit. I can instruct you on how to do this. I have a 2 bedroom cabin located in Gull rock, NC. The cabin is fully furnished and will have snacks, coffee, and breakfast foods, also cold beer or any other beverages upon request. The cabin sits right on a creek which runs right into the Sound. My rates are shown below. I will have extra gear ammo etc. I recommend 2-3 day hunts. Hunting is closed on Sunday in North Carolina so most trips occur on Friday and Saturday, or Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Hunts can be scheduled on different days if desired. I also book hunts with a 48hr notice for those with a flexible schedule. This reservation is for weekdays only. I require a 50% deposit upon booking a hunt. I recommend 2-3 people per blind and will only have no more than 2 blinds filled at any given time on our properties, insuring low-pressured birds. We will hunt over nothing but the best decoys. Most hunts will take place over 50-150 decoys. We can provide hunts for divers over longline spreads or puddle ducks in our impoundments or marsh. What to bring- warm camo clothing hopefully waterproof, warm hat, hand Warmers, other casual clothing for when the hunts over - waders are optional but will at least need knee high waterproof boots for getting on and off boat. Waders can be a good option for warmth when the temperature plummets. Waiters are the best option for impoundment hunting. Ammunition- I recommend #2 steel shot upwards to #4, if using heavi shot #4's work good. Gun- 12 gauge or 20 for youths modified choke seems to be a good fit. License- a valid North Carolina hunting license and federal duck stamp. 3 day licenses are the best deal if only hunting for a couple days in North Carolina
Dog- if you own an experienced retriever they are welcome to come and join the hunt, let me know and we can make accommodations. Guides Bio I was first introduced to duck hunting in college while attending Ole Miss. I am an avid duck caller and have been competition calling for many years now.
