Have you ever come across a roadblock? Whether it be a downed tree, a flooded road, construction, etc. Do you just sit there? No! You figure it out, you adapt, taking a detour or turning around to find a different way.

Life is full of many obstacles and roadblocks, so if something isn’t working for you, why would you keep doing it? Why would you keep going to the same spot where you got stuck to begin with? Do you believe that someone has cleared the road for you? Likely no one will, or if they do, they will not have the same sense of urgency as you do for your road, and you will have to sit stagnant for quite some time with little or no progress. Don’t expect someone else to clear your road.

The journey is yours alone. If something doesn’t work, do something different. Things suck sometimes, but you can’t just sit there waiting for someone to do the work for you.

Think of the worst challenge or obstacle you have endured. Ultimately it has been part of your journey, part of your road and you have adapted! You are still here, still moving forward, stronger, wiser, more adaptive than you were prior to facing the obstacle.

Adaptive Fitness because your journey is anything but routine!

There are four ways in which exercise controls stress:
•Exercise can help you feel less anxious— Exercise is being prescribed in clinical settings to help treat nervous tension. Following a session of exercise, clinicians have measured a decrease in electrical activity of tensed muscles. People are often less jittery and hyperactive after an exercise session.
•Exercise can relax you—One exercise session generates 90 to 120 minutes of relaxation response. Some people call this post-exercise euphoria or endorphin response. Many neurotransmitters, not just endorphins, are involved. The important thing, though, is not what they’re called, but what they do: They improve your mood and leave you relaxed.
•Exercise can make you feel better about yourself—Think about those times when you’ve been physically active. Haven’t you felt better about yourself? That feeling of self-worth contributes to stress relief.
•Exercise can make you eat better—People who exercise regularly tend to eat more nutritious food. And it’s no secret that good nutrition helps your body manage stress better.

Controlling stress comes down to making the time to exercise. You’re worth it!

Failure:
“It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all, in which case you have failed by default”
- J.K Rowling

What is Failure?

What is failure, really? Why is it so important to fail at something before we can succeed?

When we think about failure, we think of things in a negative light. We say that failure is painful and that it causes emotional turmoil and upset, and inflicts agonizing pangs of guilt, regret, and remorse.

But, for those that have known true failure, and have bounced back from it, understand that failure in life is necessary for success. Sure, failing hurts. In fact, it cuts deep like a razor, slicing its way to our inner core. Yet, it’s necessary.

The problem? Society tends to celebrate the successes rather than highlighting the epic journeys towards success that are filled with trials, tribulations, upsets, setbacks, and failures. It’s not as glamorous to talk about those things. There are many ways to recover from failure. Once you understand what failure is, and how it’s meant to serve us rather than hinder us, you’ll free your mind and open your heart to experience the joy of failure.

Although failure to us symbolizes pain, and we’ll do more to avoid pain than we will to gain pleasure, we have to realize that it’s okay to fail. But it’s not ok to give up.
Pushing forward and not giving up is quite possibly one of the best ways to recover from failure.

True success will take an enormous amount of work and effort.
