SUNY Cortland Ice Rink - Saturday 13, 2026

ELIGIBILITY - Participants must be at least 50 years of age on or before December 31, 2026. Your age as of December 31, 2026 will be the age category in which you will compete.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE FOR 2026 - Registration deadlines for sports taking place in June 2026 will be May 23rd. Please contact the ESSG office with any issues. Deadline dates for Powerlifting, Swimming, Cycling and Croquet will be later and are listed on the sport specific pages overview.

AGE CATEGORIES - Competition in most activities is divided by gender and by the following age groups: 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94, 95-99 and 100+. The Empire State Senior Games reserves the right to combine age groups when there is an insufficient number of competitors in an age category to compete with but NOT against. If so desired, you may compete in a lower age group but NOT in a higher age group. Your age as of December 31, 2026 will be the age category in which you will compete.

REGISTRATION FEE AND REFUND POLICY -

There is a $45 registration fee for each NYS athlete. Out of state athletes will be charged $55 to register. This is paid online via a credit card or via check - sent to the ESSG office. Paper registrations include a $5 processing fee.

Exception being Pickleball - those fees are listed on the tournament site.
Some sports have additional sport fees.
All fees are outlined on the specific sport registration page.

What a LONG fun weekend we had in Rhode Island at Open #11. Our trips back and forth were seamless, the facility was nice and we played a lot of games‼️

Friday we played Women’s Open singles, senior singles, Sit and Go’s, Crew Cup with Craig and Crystal and our Tiered Blind Draws at 6. Crew cup was a lot of fun!!!

Saturday we all played open tiered doubles, Pat and I played together and just couldn’t find our path together - he played well. We even had a chance to play on the Broadcast boards which was cool!!!
Aidan made tier 1 and he and Tyler had fun in the double but didn’t get the results they hoped - next time guys!!

Sunday we played singles - Aidan Tier 1, had a great run and had some big wins. Pat played Tier 5 and shot well!! I played Tier 3 and had some tough rounds which blew open the games.

Boards were slow, it got sticky in there from time to time but we had some great games, laughed, some delicious food and even a quick beach 🏖️ trip for shells 🐚 and the casino 🎰
Next opens are too far so we are done for the season unless we go to Worlds at the end of July/beginning of August.

Should be fun and we will have back up venue for rainy nights so we won’t miss weeks or they not to.
