My 16-year old client and I were doing a reflection session after a big tournament she had and I asked her how the weekend went

She was excited to share with me that her weekend went so well🙂‍↔️
She felt like her performacne was great and she was super proud of her mindset as well👏🏼

So I got curious and asked: “whats something that really stood out to you in how you showed up this weekend?”

and this was key!🔒
she said she just had this mentality that she didn’t really care

now, I know how that sounds right off the bat

but for someone who used to put so much pressure on herself and cared so much to the point that it would hinder her performance, this was huge!!🙌🏼

She went on to say…
😇“nothing was a big deal”
😇“if i made a mistake it wasn’t a big deal”
😇“if i got aced or missed a serve it wasn’t a big deal”

She even told me that she shanked a ball on game point, which meant that her team went to a third set, and she was actually happy about it after the fact because that third set was so fun🤩

this mindset really just showed me how much she has stepped into self trust

because when you stop putting your focus on the little things that really aren’t going to matter in a day or a week from now, thats when you take your power back🔒
