Emporium Rotary serving paddlers!

Great News
We just had a rain shower so the stream level is holding steady in the 600cfs range. The morning air will be crisp but no rain or snow!

Last minute information includes:

Bib pickup and goodie bags will be available 7:30-10:45 at Emporium Country Club. You must wear a life jacket under the bib.
If you are a member of ACA and have raced in 2026 you do not need to sign the additional waiver at the pick up.
Emporium Rotary Club members will be at the pick up serving hot beverages and they are free!
The shuttle bus leaves Driftwood (finish line) at 10:15.
Racing begins at 11:00
Please be sure to return your bib when you exit the water.
Volunteers will be on site to help pull your vessel out of the water.
Awards will be given in the parking area at 2:30 pm
MOST of All have a great time!

True Champion 🏆 of the Sinnemahone Paddle Race🛶
Today I had the honor of participating in the Sinnemahone 12-Mile Paddle Race from Emporium to Driftwood—an intense challenge made even tougher by hypothermic water and 40-degree temperatures. Every paddler out there today is a phenomenal athlete, but one stood out as a true hero: Ruth Anne, a remarkable 12-year-old from Emporium.
Ruth Anne and I both got caught in a strainer—one of the most dangerous river obstacles. My boat flipped, and I lost my paddle. Amidst the cold, chaos, and danger, Ruth Anne didn’t hesitate. She took the time to help me recover my paddle, a selfless act of bravery and compassion.
What’s even more incredible is that Ruth Anne instinctively followed the core international paddling safety rule: assess the situation, ensure personal safety, then assist others. Her calm, courage, and instinct are beyond her years.
Ruth Anne, thank you. No words can truly express my gratitude. You are the heart and soul of this race.🤗🥰🏆
