If we want more people to become lifelong golfers, we have to look at the entire experience of learning the game — not just instruction.

Most youth sports have an expiration date. The travel team ends. The rec league stops calling. The gear sits in the garage.

Golf doesn't do that. It's the one sport that's still there when everything else has moved on, still there when your kid is 25 and calling to ask if you want to play Saturday morning.

That's worth thinking about when you're picking what to invest in now.
