The Legends and New Leashes event hosted by Smoky Mountain DockDogs was officially H***hโ€™s first competition as a Hero Dog. The Hero Division is for dogs who are 12+ years old. I am grateful that this forever-puppy of mine still is capable and interested in competing. Although I start him shorter on the dock and although he doesnโ€™t quite fly like he used to, this boy has taken me on a wild ride through this sport โ€ฆand each and every time Iโ€™m up on that dock with him I still love watching him fly and I am thankful for every second !

From deathโ€™s door to Dock Diving Diva ๐Ÿ’ฆ! โ€ฆ Thank you to Bonnie at Shamrock Studios who phenomenally captured Rosรฉโ€™s first competition jumps, swims, and โ€œBig Poppa air-liftsโ€ out of the pool ๐Ÿ˜‚!

Whoever is cutting those onions๐Ÿง…, enough already ๐Ÿ˜ญ! I honestly still cannot believe this amazing little gal made through all she has - Back in February, I prepared myself to welcome her in our home and just show her love for the short time I thought she had leftโ€ฆYet here she is living with vibrance and enthusiasm to try ALL the new things. Stay tuned for adventures galore with this special soul!

Smoky Mountain DockDogs honored all the club membersโ€™ dogs that had passed last season. A memorial toy toss was done at the pool and beautiful memorial gifts were given to the families.

Thank you, Smoky Mountain DockDogs for honoring our special gal, ๐Ÿ’Ÿ๐Ÿฅ‚Lillet Blanc. She was my little shadow and is deeply missed. Brian and I are so grateful for you all โ€ฆand very much appreciate you creating this beautiful memorial gift. It will be placed in a special spot in our home. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

๐Ÿ’šH***h is technically Elite titled at the club level, but the clubs this year are doing a wonderful thing for Hero (12+ yr old) dogs: wherever they rank at the end of the competition is where they compete in finals.

H***h was the #1 GSP for years and jumped over 26 feet in his heyday. In his senior years heโ€™s jumping around 13 feet. He made Junior finals and placed 5th overall.

He may not jump as far as he used to, but he is still super excited to get on the dock and compete with his mama! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ This is one of his finals jumps.

Many unforgettable moments and special memories were made this weekend with Smoky Mountain DockDogs โ€ฆ but this part of the event definitely was one for the books! ๐Ÿ’—๐ŸทRosรฉ participated in her first dock diving competition! Her longest jump was only 5โ€™1โ€ โ€ฆ but in her mind (and mine too!) her performance was absolutely THE best and my heart could not be happier!

Overall, she placed as an alternate for Novice finals and because someone didnโ€™t show up and another person graciously scratched because their dog wasnโ€™t consistently jumping, Rosรฉ was bumped into Novice Finals, where she placed 5th out of 6 dogs.

Rosรฉ could NOT get enough of dock diving - I could hardly get her away from the pool as she pulled to get back to the entry steps of the dock!

She had a blast and I could not be happier! Thank you to Smoky Mountain DockDogs for a wonderful weekend , and to Pointer Rescue, Organization - who believed in her when she was literally at deathโ€™s door just 4 months ago - and gave this amazing soul a second chance at lifeโ€ฆ AND trusted us to love and care for her!

Included in this post is one of Rosรฉโ€™s jumps from Novice finals and a pic of her with her medal and rosette with the awesome photo backdrop and setup at the event. (It poured immediately after finals so I had taken a picture of the set up at the event prior to the storm and AI helped me today to put Rosรฉ on the dock).
