โฆAnd all thanks to Pointer Rescue, Organization who gave Rosรฉ a second chance and my dear friend, fellow rescue volunteer, and ๐ก๐๐ซ๐จ, Jessica Brinks , who pulled Rosรฉ from the shelter - literally in the nick of time โฆ we intend to do ๐๐ข๐ ๐ก ๐กโ๐๐ก.
Since the day Rosรฉ (then โAprilโ) arrived, PRO went above and beyond for her. I am forever grateful for all this amazing organization did to save Rosรฉ and ensure she has the best chance possible to survive and thrive in whatever time she has left with us. A special thank you to Nora, our rescue president, for her constant support and advice throughout the many ups and downs.
The doctors and staff at VCA Highlands Animal Hospital and University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine have been ๐ก๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐. Their medical expertise, compassion, and kindness has been a comfort to us as we tried our best to support Rosรฉ through several major surgeries and complications.
Husband and DogFather of the Year award goes to Brian who never hesitated in being the main caretaker of the rest of the pack (not an easy task!) during the many hours and days when I needed to be by Rosรฉโs side through emergencies, surgeries and recoveries.
We would never have been able to get through all the hurdles without the love and support we have received from all of ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ - we are so deeply appreciative.

๐๐๐ฌ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ง๐๐ฒ:
Like so many rescue dogs, Rosรฉโs journey started with challenges no dog should ever have to face. While we may never truly know everything she endured for her 11 years before rescue, what we ๐๐ know is that somehow, through it all, Rosรฉ never lost her spirit.
When Rosรฉ first arrived, she carried the weight of her past with her. Slowly, day-by-day, she began to realize that kindness was real, meals would come regularly, soft beds were meant for her, and love wasnโt something she had to earn.
As her confidence grew, so did her personality. The dog who once seemed uncertain began to โจshineโจ. Rosรฉ discovered the joy of belly rubs, adventures, treats, and simply being part of a family. She learned that life could be filled with comfort, love, laughter, and people who adored her.
Today, Rosรฉ is a testament to the incredible resilience of rescue dogs and to the dedication and compassion of Pointer Rescue Organization. Her past may be part of her story, but it does ๐๐๐ define her. Instead, she is defined by her strength, courage, & fortitude, as well as the love she gives so freely despite having been neglected and abused by humans in the past.
Rosรฉ, with her adorable squinty smiles, reminds us that sometimes the most beautiful stories donโt start perfectly. They start with a second chanceโฆAnd what a beautiful second chance it has become.

๐จ๐ซ๐ฐ๐๐ซ๐:
It is likely that the types of malignancies that were excised could have already metastasized to her lungs and it may also be likely that other tumors could still arise and need to be removed. However, given all that Rosรฉ has been through as well as her age, it was determined that the best plan for her is to enjoy whatโs left of her life and to let her continue to heal as we monitor for any additional masses and/or symptoms. She will have a repeat abdominal ultrasound and chest X-rays in two months.
