We’re so grateful for the Eminence and Putnam County communities that welcome the Dust Bowl with open arms every year, and one of our primary goals from the beginning has been to give back, support, and elevate those communities in the process. We’re thrilled to announce that the Dust Bowl’s estimated economic impact to the region this year was $500,000, pushing our 6 year total over $1.5 million!

The Dust Bowl was also able to directly support the following programs and initiatives in 2026:

🔸19 bicycles donated to students in the Eminence Community Schools system (77 bikes donated since 2021!)
🔸$4,295 raised for Eminence Athletics through Camping and Shower fees
🔸$4,320 donated to Eminence Groups for
volunteer hours
🔸$1,470 raised for Eminence Community Schools through rider donations at the SILCA Bike Wash
🔸$930 raised for the Eminence A&A Fire
Department through Camping Fees
🔸12 full student scholarships funded for the 2026 Indiana Inter. Cycling League (NICA) season
🔸1,500+ items donated to the Eminence Christian Church food pantry
🔸Designated Funding Ride for Bicycle Indiana ($1 per participant donated to BI)
🔸Monetary donation to Putnam Parks & Pathways to support their work expanding outdoor opportunities in Putnam County Visitors Bureau

When SILCA has their biggest launch yet and the Dust Bowl is prominently featured 🥹

Long-time Dust Bowl partner SILCA just released their Protocol tire lineup, SILCA’s first foray into the bike tire market! By incorporating XC mountain bike performance into high-efficiency platforms, SILCA designed these tires specifically for modern wide rims and lower air pressures.

The Protocol lineup includes three gravel tires and one road tire; the Protocol RCG-1 is SILCA’s “fast gravel” option and was designed explicitly for courses like the Dust Bowl! In fact, Dylan Johnson was in town testing and riding these tires all Dust Bowl week, and our 100-mile Elite Men’s winner, Robert Oehler, was also on the RCG-1 tires on race day!

We’re honored that SILCA chose the Dust Bowl course as one of their “proving grounds” and are stoked to see all the DB content prominently featured in the Protocol marketing materials!

Last race of the Indiana Race Series coming up soon!

The Harvest 50 Gravel is the last race of the inaugural Indiana Race Series!

Don’t let the 50- and 25-mile distances fool you. The Harvest 50 is a tough challenge that will test even the most experienced gravel riders.

Race Day is September 26th.

After the race, stick around for the post-race celebration. It’s the perfect way to cap off a summer of racing, celebrate the miles you’ve put in, and enjoy some well-earned time with fellow riders.

🎉 Dust Bowl Post-Race Survey Giveaway 🎉

We had 275 participants fill out the post-race survey this year! Those responses truly help us continue to shape, grow, and improve the race, and we’re grateful for all of you that took the time to respond.
