This Memorial Day weekend, we’re honored to highlight Richard Burton, a U.S. Army veteran, and his family.

They showed up with a mix of hesitation and stoke, but leaned into the experience together. By the end of the session, it was all smiles, waves, and memories made in the water.

This session was one we were proud to offer because, while we’re always grateful for those who’ve served, we believe just as strongly in supporting the families who stand beside them every step of the way.
Moments like this are what it’s all about for us.

Surfer of the Week: Gigi Jerranna Cannady

Gigi came to us last year with a simple goal: to ride a wave.

Since then, her journey has been something special to watch. Showing up with intention, putting in the work, and trusting the process every step of the way.

Now, she’s out there charging waves with a smile that says it all. The kind of stoke that lifts everyone around her.

A grandmother, a surfer, and proof that it’s never too late to start.

60 years young—and still chasing waves.

We met Mike Starr our first season when he came down from New York looking to get in the water. Since then, he’s been on his own surf journey up and down the East Coast and more, building a style that’s completely his.

But what stands out isn’t just where he’s been—it’s how he shows up.

Every session. Every wave. Same stoke.

Mike reminds us that surfing isn’t about age, it’s about attitude.

And he’s got plenty of both.

Meet Owen 🤙

Owen grew up surfing right here in Emerald Isle and is truly one with the ocean. His knowledge of the water and natural feel for the waves make him an incredible instructor for surfers of all levels.

When he’s not in the lineup, you’ll find him chasing adventure—traveling high and low through rock climbing and hiking, always in search of the next bit of stoke.

This week’s spotlight goes to David 🤙

Enthusiasm from the second he hit the beach, David didn’t hesitate to charge into the cold water and get after it. Session by session, you could see the progress, and by the end he was up and riding with real confidence and style.
That kind of energy is what it’s all about.

By the end of the day, David wasn’t just catching waves—he was starting to find his own style out there in Emerald Isle.
