Not only is Open Martial Arts Tournament Competition back at the Arnold Sports Festival this coming Saturday March 2nd, but it is also back with a new group of black belt instructors and tournament promoters with years of experience. This group of experience promoters have worked together to organize the kind of martial arts tournament championship that the Arnold Sports Festival have always intended it to be – a martial arts tournament for competitors of all ages, rank levels, styles and systems, a tournament for under black belt competitors who will be coming and competing for the first-time, to top-rank national and international black belt competitors with lots of tournament experience.

This tournament will also host 5 separate styles of adult black belt weapon and empty-hand form competitions. Each style will include a $200 cash prize grand champion kata run-off. The grand champion winner from each style will compete in a super grand champion run-off for a $500 cash prize. But wait, that’s not all. The organizers of this tournament understand how important it is to make martial arts instructors feel appreciated when they come and encourage their students to come and compete in the tournaments. They also understand how important it is to compensate parents and other individuals who volunteer to be scorekeepers and timekeepers, and black belts who come and help judge and referee. $$$ Compensations for Instructors, Judges, Referees, Scorekeeper and Timekeepers and more…..

It’s Back! But this time, there will be lots of new and exciting things happening at this tournament. While we were in the process of laying out the plans for the 2024 Arnold Sports Festival “Open Martial Arts Championship,” we wanted to make sure that it will be a martial art tournament that competitors of all ages, rank levels, styles and systems will be excited about coming and competing in - a tournament that instructors, judges, referees, scorekeepers, and timekeeper will be proud to come and be a part of.

Here are just a few of the exciting things that we are talking about. We’re going to compensate every martial arts instructor who brings 20 or more students to the tournament. We will be compensating all judges and referees. Even our scorekeepers and timekeepers will be compensated.

This may be the first martial arts tournament that you have ever competed in where adult black belt men and women Weapon Forms and Empty-Hand Form competitions will be divided into 5 separate disciplines (styles of martial art). Each discipline will be divided into 2 - 3 age groups. There will be a $$ Prize Grand Champion run-off between the 1st place winners from each discipline, and a $$ Prize Super Grand Champion run-off between the grand champion of each disciplines.
