GREAT NEWS! Overnight camping in the BWCA Wilderness will be allowed through the following Ely-area entry points starting on August 5th.........Moose Lake, Lake One, Snowbank, Wood, Slim, Farm, Crab, Trout, plus both North & South Kawishiwi River. Our MANY THANKS to the fire fighters for a job well done!

We just got word that the Fernberg Road will be re-opened at 7 PM tonight (after prevously being closed due to forest fires in the BWCA). That said, our Moose Lake campground and cabin rentals will re-open tomorrow, July 27th. Watercraft travel and fishing will only be allowed on the lower 1/3 of Moose Lake, which is the portion located outside of the BWCA. Day-trips into some Gunflint Trail lakes will also begin tomorrow........then hopefully Ely area BWCA lakes will be next!

The BWCA closed today and tried to have all of our customers leave it due to the forest fires. After a 15 hour work day...

The BWCA closed today and tried to have all of our customers leave it due to the forest fires. After a 15 hour work day for the Olson Family there are still two groups making their way back out. Hopefully all will be out by tomorrow safely. Here is a photo of just one of the fires taking place at this time.
