Our new HiFlow Flat Chamber Face Ecotec valves come with two tip options: stock tip for standard cams, or extended tip for regrinds to correct rocker geometry!

Both use the stock OEM three-groove locks. No special keepers, and no head modifications beyond the normal valve job.

Choose the tip for your cam setup, check the geometry during assembly, and you’re good to go.

If you’re deleting the balance shafts, why leave the balance shaft sprockets behind?

The BK Racing Ecotec Balance Shaft Delete uses a shortened water pump chain, allowing the balance shafts and their sprockets to be completely removed while retaining the factory mechanical water pump.

Removing the balance shaft assembly reduces rotating mass and parasitic power loss, which becomes increasingly important as RPM climbs. It also removes unnecessary rotating components and potential failure points from a race engine.

Worried about vibration? We have not had customers report any noticeable increase in low-RPM vibration after removing the balance shafts.

Our outer sleeves properly block and redirect oil after the shafts are removed. Inner sleeves are also available as an optional add-on to block the internal oil passages without having to reposition the factory bearing races.

No balance shafts. No balance shaft sprockets. Shortened water pump chain. Less rotating mass.

GM’s rock-solid hydraulic timing chain tensioner. Until it isn’t. 😏

Brand-new replacement tensioners losing oil pressure, bleeding down and causing timing chain rattle. Sound familiar?

That’s why we offer our BK Racing Manual Timing Chain Tensioner. No hydraulic bleed-down, no dependence on oil pressure and no internal hydraulic mechanism to fail.

And before anyone tells us manual tensioners are a terrible idea 😂, GM Racing was using them in high-performance Ecotec engines over 20 years ago.

We’ve used them in both street and racing applications without seeing increased guide wear when properly adjusted.

You can’t fix an unstable Ecotec valvetrain by simply throwing more spring pressure at it.

Kicked rockers. Collapsed lifters. Hydraulic bleed-down. Broken lash adjusters. Poor rocker geometry with reground cams.

We’ve seen all of it.

That’s why BK Racing has focused on the entire Ecotec valvetrain as a system—the valve, spring, retainer, rocker, camshaft and lash adjuster all have to work together.

🔧 83 lb Valve Springs – up to 27% better valve control. Tested to 9,300 RPM.

🔧 Titanium Retainers – lightweight and designed for both early and updated GM rockers.

🔧 Solid Lash Adjusters – eliminate hydraulic failure points and improve rocker stability.

Great news for North Wilkesboro race weekend!!!!! Track management and the Smart Tour officials have opened us up for a last chance race!!!! This will be a 15 lap race. Top 4 finishers will move to the main event!!! We have also increased the starting field to 30 cars. ( 24 on time, 4 from LCR, and 2 provisionals ) Practice date will continue Oct 7th. Gates will open at 4 and practice from 5 to 8:30 PM. 150.00 per car.

Fully Nitrided Should Mean Fully Nitrided. 👀

There’s a difference between a valve that was nitrided during manufacturing and a valve designed to retain that treatment where it matters on the finished part.

When we developed the BK Racing Ecotec Performance Valves, we didn’t want to nitride the valve and then grind away the treatment in critical areas just so we could still put “nitrided” on the product description.

Our 21-4N stainless valves are fully nitrided, and our manufacturing process was developed around retaining that hardened surface on the finished valve—including critical wear and contact areas.

Why go through the extra trouble?

Because nitriding isn’t there for a marketing bullet point. It’s there for surface hardness, wear resistance and durability.

If we’re going to advertise a fully nitrided performance valve, we want the finished valve to actually reflect that.

It’s one of those details you might never notice looking at two valves side-by-side.

But we noticed it. 🤙🏻

And that’s exactly why we changed it.❤️

🔥 Another reason to pair our Lightweight Titanium Retainers with BK Racing 83 lb Springs!

GM updated the factory Ecotec rocker arm ( #12693909) in 2023 with a taller valve-stem side, which can cause interference with many aftermarket retainers.

Our BK Racing Titanium Retainers were designed with this in mind, providing clearance for both the original and updated GM rocker designs.

Lightweight. Proper clearance. Built specifically for the Ecotec. 🏁
