NEW CENTER COORDINATOR! We're excitedly announce Jeanie Morris is the new Elon FamilySearch Center Coordinator. Please be sure to welcome her to this new role when you see/meet her.

For those who may be wondering what happened to Joe, he's not going anywhere. He will be staying on as a volunteer with more time to devote to our center's educational programs and will still be available to assist patrons as needed.

As promised, a beginners genealogy course is now scheduled and open for enrollment/registration. This is an entirely online course with 4 weekly Teams webinars. The class starts October 13, 2026 and runs through November 3, 2026 with a class maximum of 8 - so register early.

The course instructor is our own Joe Tritchler and he's doing this in response to the interest shown by our Elon FSC patrons so check it out.

This month (July 2026) the Greensboro FamilySearch Center seminar/webinar is "America 250 - Beyond the Battlefield" presented by Joe Tritchler.

The discussion will focus on how to discover the patriotic services that were performed by our often forgotten ancestors (especially focusing on women as well as people of color) during the revolutionary war. These services included: providing food, livestock and other supplies; signing oaths of allegiance; managing homesteads; and providing financial support. We will explore the sometimes overlooked records used to unveil these contributions by those who were just trying to survive the war.

Every ancestor who lived during the American Revolution deserves to have their story told. Join us to discover how to learn more about their lives and contributions as we celebrate America 250. We invite you to join us in-person or via Zoom.
