Elmwood Rod & Gun Summer Trap League 2026 – Quick Rules & Info

Summer Trap league is right around the corner! We will have the usual Team and Individual leagues. We are always looking to bring in new competition and more teams. Don't have enough to form a team? Ask around! There are always people looking to join! Here’s a quick breakdown of how things will work this summer:

KEY DATES
-Open Shoot (practice only): April 29 @ 5 PM
-Official scoring window: Every Wednesday @ 5 PM May 6 – August 19
-Awards Night: August 26

Teams
-Up to 8 shooters per team (adults + juniors)
-Teams must be registered and paid ($50/team) by May 29
-Contact Nick with your team roster before week 4
-New teams and individual shooters are always welcome!

Shooting Format
-Each shooter must complete 13 official rounds
-Your lowest score is dropped (12 scores count toward average)
-You can shoot ahead or behind anytime during the season—no assigned team nights
-All scores must be in by August 19

Scoring
-Team score = top 5 scores per "week" on scoring sheet (with handicap)
-Handicap is added based on your score (max score = 25)
-Must declare “official” BEFORE shooting your round

Junior Shooters
-Must have Hunter Safety
-Can be on teams and count toward top 5 scores
-Eligible for their own awards ( individual league with top 10 scores overall for junior standings)

We will be opening up for open trap shooting from 1-4 tomorrow, March 22nd. See you there!

It's warming up, so let's shoot! Spread the word!

This Sunday, March 8th, we will be opening up the trap houses to host some open shooting from 1pm to 4pm. Cost per round will be $7 for adults and $5 for youth (17 and under). We will have boxes of shells available for purchase at $10 per box. Please reach out with any questions, thank you!

Tomorrow, October 1st, we will be opening up the trap houses for a night of open shooting starting at 5 PM. Anyone and everyone is welcome to come shoot!

Update for the Summer trap league:

We will be extending the league one week due to the number of shooters that need scores. This is also due to having a couple weeks where we were rained out. Today 8/13 and next Wednesday, 8/20 will be open for league scoring and open shooting.

We will be having league and open shooting today again from 4-7.

Reminder that this coming Wednesday, 8/13, will be the last night for shooting official scores. The following Wednesday, 8/20, will be our awards/fun night!

Tomorrow night we will have grilled brats available for purchase! League and open shooting signup starts at 5, brats will be ready shortly after. Don't shoot? Feel free to come out and have a cold beer/pop and a brat to support the clubhouse anyway! See you all tomorrow!!

We plan on switching trap house one over to throw doubles around 6:30 or so. This makes for great practice for all the wing shooters! Opening up at 5 as usual. See you there!
