About the dance style:
Bharatanatyam is a 3000 year old dance form and the most popular of all classical styles of India.It is a very structured and precise dance where huge repertoires of hand movements are used to convey meaning of lyrics and expression. Bharatanatyam is well known for its rhythmic,vigorous footwork, crisp movements and sculpture like poses.

Recital Day!

I had the wonderful opportunity to teach an introductory Bharatanatyam workshop to the IB Dance students at Somers High School. These talented young dancers were incredibly quick learners and, in a short period of time, mastered and performed a variety of dance styles, including Albanian, Ukrainian, Salsa, Hip-Hop, Latin, and more.
