In honor of the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we took a few moments at the end of general class tonight to reflect and meditate. Kaicho and senior members spoke about Captain Pat Brown/Sensei Pat, an exemplary Honbu black belt student, whose kindnesses, bravery and strength continues to inspire us. We think of him and others today and everyday.

Yesterday, May 31, 2026, was a very special day for us. In honor of Seido reaching its 50th anniversary this year, the Elmsford Mayor gifted us an honorary street sign, “Seido Way,” by our Westchester dojo. The ceremony gave Kaicho the recognition he deserves - 50 years since founding a unique Japanese karate style that balances the training of the mind, body and spirit; and incorporates the principals that were taught and practiced by his parents. Seido Karate is more than just the techniques, but about being a better human being inside and outside the dojo. We are grateful for the community that Seido has grown to become, and are excited to make this momentous occasion another highlight for our big ZEN SHIN/50th Anniversary Celebration this year.
