Official preseason workouts don’t start for another couple of weeks, but that didn’t stop a few of our kids from getting in the gym and putting some work in on their own.

This is how you build a TEAM.

No coaches telling you to be there. No scheduled workout. Just teammates deciding to get together, get some shots up, compete and get better.

This is where chemistry is built. This is where camaraderie is built. This is where you learn each other, push each other and start becoming more than just a bunch of players wearing the same uniform.

These days matter.

Season will be here before we know it. 🏀💪🏾

Today also marked the final day of our Summer Strength & Conditioning Program! 💪🏀

A BIG shoutout to Senior Mykenzie “Kenz” Dickerson and Junior Kayvonna King, our Summer Workout Warriors! 🔥

Out of 21 possible early-morning sessions:
🏆 Kayvonna — 15 sessions
🏆 Kenz — 10 sessions

That speaks volumes. Getting up at 5:30 in the morning during the SUMMER to come in and work isn’t easy. No games. No crowds. No applause. Just getting stronger, getting faster, and putting the work in for November.

Kudos to these two, and to all of our girls who showed up and put in work this summer. Every lift, every sprint, every early morning matters.

Take the lumps now and smooth ’em out for November. ❤️🖤🏀

And that’s a wrap on the Elmira College Summer League for your Lady Express! 🏀🔴⚫️

We finished the summer tonight with a win over Tioga, but our Game Ball tonight goes to our young JV girls who stepped up and played with us all summer. 👏🏾

Traditionally, we don’t play a ton of JV girls in the summer league, but between vacations, injuries, and other commitments, we needed them a lot more this year.

And whether we won or lost, they brought energy, effort, and competed every single time they stepped on the floor. Tonight was no different. They came in, gave us great minutes, and left it all out there.

This summer gave them an opportunity to play against older, stronger competition, learn on the fly, and get a little taste of what’s expected at the next level.

Proud of the growth. Proud of the effort. And proud of the way they answered the call.

Summer League 2026 is officially in the books. Now we take everything we learned, get back to work, and start getting ready for November.

Please join us in wishing Junior Kayvonna King good luck this weekend as she represents Elmira as a member of the BCANY Southern Tier team at this weekend’s Summer Hoops Festival at Monroe-Woodbury High School!

Kayvonna has had an exceptional offseason, putting in the work and continuing to improve her game as she prepares for what we expect to be a fantastic junior season.

Another shorthanded night at Summer League, this time against a very scrappy Towanda team.

But our young girls who have stepped in while some of our older girls are unavailable are learning quickly! They’re grinding, fighting, scrapping and competing — and that’s all we can ask for right now.

🏀 Game ball tonight goes to junior Meya Smith, who was pretty dominant tonight!

We’re learning. We’re working. We’re getting better. 💪🏾🏀

A huge congratulations to our JV Coach, Coach Nas, who is now officially Mrs. Anasah Artuz! ♥️🏀💍

Coach Nas and Marc were married this past weekend, and it truly was an Elmira Express family affair. Head Coach A’Don Allen had the honor of serving as the DJ for the celebration, while several of our players volunteered throughout the day to help make everything run smoothly.

We’re proud to see our basketball family showing up for one another both on and off the court. Please join us in wishing Coach Nas and Marc a lifetime of love, laughter, and happiness.

Summer League game tonight with a tough one against Athens. We were a little short-handed, but our girls battled from start to finish. We came up a bit short in the end, but the effort was there, and that’s something we can continue to build on.

We’re learning, we’re growing, and we’re getting better every time we step on the floor.
