One of the biggest mistakes we see at E-Town Fitness is adults over 40 relying solely on cardio. While cardio has benefits for heart health, it doesn’t build or maintain muscle, which is key for a strong metabolism.
After 40, muscle naturally starts to decline, and without strength training, that process speeds up. The best way to counter that? Structured strength training. Lifting weights builds lean muscle, improves bone density, and keeps your metabolism high.
If your workouts are all about burning calories or “getting sweaty,” it’s time to evolve. Your focus should shift toward building strength, improving mobility, and fueling recovery.
