Yes, the water in the Connoquenessing Creek is very low and hard to run without hitting rocks but, the Beaver River, while low, is still very enjoyable. We did the Bevington to Rock Point run. About 3 miles. Even had an eagle sighting, which is always great.

ACA Kayak Instructor, Dean Fletcher, is offering indoor, whitewater kayak, rolling sessions on Saturday, January 18th and 25th at Riverside Beaver Co. High School in Ellwood City, PA. We have the pool from 6:30pm - 8:30 pm. The cost is $100 for the two week session. If you would like to use this opportunity for indoor practice on your own, we are offering that option for $10/person. All kayaks must be clean and free of debris.

Today was the nicest weather and also water level trip we have had all summer. It was a large mixed group. Teens and adults in 3 rafts. We did the middle and lower gorge. What a great enthusiastic group we had. All were so helpful and supportive when we had a partial raft blowout right before the Rooster Tail. We made it though! Thank you Jesus, for protecting us. A huge thank you for all of the help loading the gear at the end. And also to our friend Mike Morrow for lending us his talents and skill in the water ensuring safety for us. Thank you to our new friends we made today.

Happy Memorial Day! It was such a beautiful day. We are so happy to be a part of the Ellwood City Memorial Day Parade. It was great to see so many people showing their gratitude and support to those who serve and have served to make our country free.

Sunday afternoon Dean treated me to a float down the Slippery Rock Creek. We started at a little put in where Armstrong Rd and Heinz Camp Road meet. It's a popular fly fishing spot. I have never paddled in the Slip before and was amazed at the rugged beauty surrounding this Creek. The smell of the forest was amazing as it emanated from dense forest growth. Again, we say this all the time, we feel so blessed to be so close to these natural water trails. We highly recommend this trip to those who want a peaceful float with only riffles. We used our recreational kayaks and paddled to the Connoquenessing Creek and took out at the Ellport Park. It was approximately 2 hours. We didn't have problems with rocks because the water was somewhat higher due to the rain. Would be interesting to see how it is during regular level. We hope you give this section a try.

Today was the start of our guiding season. It couldn't have been a prettier day. We took 2 of our rafts out along with Dean and two other experienced kayakers. The Conni was high and running quickly. We started at the Frisco railroad bridge and took out at the old water treatment plant. It was a great, fun run today! The group was super. So happy to have made new friends. Hoping to do it with the sit on top kayaks when it's a bit warmer and water levels are more normal!
