Clash of the Krakens

Bash here!
I talked to Adam Woodfin a bit today. We're getting the wheels turning on Clash of the Krakens 3 soon!
Our aim is to make it better than ever with events designed to test even the toughest of pirates! Do you have what it takes?
We already have three brave buccaneers signed up! That leaves 7 early bird slots still available for the penny pinching pirates out for a good deal!

On a more serious note, we here at Clash of the Krakens want to send a big congratulations to John Winter for becoming the new Maine state representative for United States Strongman! While we'll miss Rick Smith Jr. and everything he's done to grow this sport in this state, we look forward to this next chapter in Maine's strongman community!

The pirate press event definitely challenged our competitors! This was originally going to be a viking press, and given what we had to work with, we had to change it up and turn it into almost an overhead squat.
Our athletes quickly adapted and overcame this obstacle with some truly epic weight being lifted over their heads!
This is what strongman is about!

Had a couple of pictures from last year's Clash of the Krakens pop up in my Facebook memories.
There were a lot of lessons learned that day, and more than one thing went wrong for sure. We had malfunctioning equipment and questions about judges decisions. We had a cold morning followed by way too much sun. The trophies were silly. We had to improvise and adapt as we went along. It really shouldn't have been a success, but somehow we pulled it off.
Then, something amazing happened! After the chaos of that day, Adam Woodfin and Bash Thunderbeard Crowley decided to give this competition another try. They said "let's grow this into something bigger and better".
And that's exactly what we did! We increased the the competitor slots and we engineered contraptions that had to hold up to some of the strongest athletes in New England. We absolutely put all our effort into this to bring our athletes the best experience possible!

Then, something amazing happened! You supported us! You signed up to compete. You sponsored us. You came and cheered on the athletes. You bought food from Currents - Seafood & Spirits and you made the day feel like magic! I can't even begin to thank everybody enough for the immense support we received for Clash of the Krakens 2! You all showed us just how awesome this community is! Without you, none of this could happen. We're truly grateful for all of your support, belief in us, and patience in us as we continue to learn and grow this competition!
We'll be back next year with more mayhem and shenanigans! You've shown us that you want more, and we're going to give it to you!

We asked all of our competitors to sign this flyer on game day. I think we should do this every year as Clash of the Krakens continues to grow!
