For Barton alumna Alysia Eliason, a career in education wasn’t always the plan. Coming from a family of nurses, she expected to follow that path, but quickly realized it wasn’t the right fit.

Everything changed at Barton. Through hands-on experiences working with kids at the Child Development Center, teaching swim lessons, and supporting families in the community, she discovered a passion she didn’t expect. 🐾

That’s when it clicked. She didn’t want to be behind a desk, she wanted to help students grow, succeed, and believe in themselves.

Today, she’s making that impact as the principal of Ellinwood Middle/High School, leading and supporting students every day.

She credits Barton for pushing her outside her comfort zone, building her confidence, and helping her find a path that truly fits.

We will have a meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, after school in old gym for 7th&8th grade middle school girls basketball. It will be very quick (maybe 5-10min) to get a head count and also make sure forms are being turned in that are needed.

We have a meeting Thursday at 1:45pm for the 6th grade girls at the grade school.

There will be no basketball tomorrow night, Thursday, June 26. We will see the girls come late October after volleyball season.

Mondays 7-8:15am skills in new gym
Wednesdays 930-1030am grade school open gym (Allison Widener and Coach Wesner are hosting)
Thursday 630-8pm Old Gym competition nights.

There is no sign up, deadlines or costs required. Just show up, play some ball, and have some fun.

MS school girls basketball will have skills from 7am-8:15am in the new gym on Mondays June 2,9,16,23. We will do competition nights on Thursdays in old gym June 5,12,19,26.

ELLINWOOD MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL 6th-8th graders are invited to sign up and ride the pep bus on Saturday!
🚌🎉🦅We have a pep bus scheduled to travel to Sublette for substate basketball on Saturday. The girls will play in the championship versus Phillipsburg for a trip to the state tournament. All students who ride the bus will be admitted free to the game thanks to Eagle Backerz. The signup will be in Coach Maxwell’s room, he will provide details. The girls can’t wait to see you show your 🚌🦅🏀

Today’s games at Hoisington have been cancelled. They had a water main burst and have no restroom facilities or water of any kind. This is their last regular season so there does not seem to be a chance to reschedule. We will practice after school in the grade school until 530pm.
