It's that time of year again! please take a moment to get to know our drivers! up first is Weslee Scott Racing!

At just 10 years old, Weslee McBride is already establishing himself as one of the most focused and determined young racers in the region. He began racing quarter midgets in September 2020 and has since built a reputation for speed, consistency, and maturity beyond his age. Weslee’s long‑term dream is to become a 410 Winged Sprint Car driver, and every season brings him one step closer to that goal.

Weslee approaches racing with a thoughtful, analytical mindset. After tough races, he takes time to reflect on what he could have done differently, using each challenge as fuel for improvement. His work ethic and attitude make him a standout competitor and an excellent representative for partner brands.

This year, Weslee will continue his quarter midget career in the Sr. Honda and Lt. 160 divisions as well as taking on select races in the World Formula division and beginning his first year in the NOW600 Restricted Micro Sprint division at local dirt tracks in Colorado, Kansas, and Oklahoma.

Well it was a rough weekend of clawing our way through (our own)cars slower than a snail's pace both days. Experimented with some setup changes and some gear ratios and found some things that worked and a lot more stuff that didn't. We didn't do anything worth talking about in the senior Honda, but we managed a couple 4th place finishes in Lt 160. Enjoy this photo of us on the podium before they realized they announced the finish wrong and literally knocked us down a peg. 🤣

Congrats to our team mate Anthony Vifquain for pulling off a clean sweep for the weekend with 2 Lt. 160 wins and 2 world formula wins. This weekend was the biggest Front Range series event we've had in a couple years with 75 cars the first day and 78 the second! Next up is and exhibition race at CNS on the 23rd, follower by RMQMA the 30th, and Front Range races 5 and 6 at PPQMA Sept. 6-7th!

Thank you Rocky Mountain Quarter Midget Association (RMQMA) for having us this weekend. We had a great time!

Wow... What a weekend! It's been three hard years in the making but this weekend, Weslee finally got his first win! Also moved from 5th up to 2nd on day 2 after wiping the front end out in the heat race. With good, clean passing and a true 1st place trophy, today could be called a success and so much more!

MVP MOTORSPORTS ANNOUNCES LATEST ADVANCEMENT IN RACING TIRE RECAPPING

MVP Motorsports of Colorado has revealed that it has been working with racing teams from many different disciplines in order to help reduce the cost of tires for competitors across the country. In an interview with FloRacing, Ian McBride, president of MVP’s tech department said, “We’ve been keeping this research pretty secret for the past year, and except for a few hiccups, it’s been a pretty successful endeavor.” When asked about how the idea was originally formulated, McBride said, “ Well, I was prepping my son’s quarter midget tires before the start of the season last year, and started brainstorming how we could reduce the amount of tire waste while also saving our wallet from the hefty cost of racing tires these days. That’s when it hit me. –Trucking companies have been recapping tires for decades. Why don’t we just grind up our tire shavings and melt them back onto the tire?”

Although many sanctioning bodies have stated that they will not allow these tires to be run, McBride says that there should be no concerns about the legality of these tires. “Out of all the testing we’ve done throughout the past year, we’ve only had a couple bad tires come up with our product tester, Bobby Pierce.” McBride continued, “We’ve since changed over to a different type of catalyst for retreading our tires, and so far, no series has found anything else to complain about.”

Although most tire testing has been done with dirt late models and sprint cars, MVP plans to expand their technology into all motorsports, including one day, NASCAR. “With the huge push in mainstream motorsports to be “Green,” I think the timing couldn’t be better. I’m hoping one day I wake up to a phone call from Steve Phelps himself, telling me that he wants to run our recapped tires in the Cup series… Or at least the Xfinity series,” McBride laughed.

While most of the feedback MVP Motorsports has gotten on their ‘new’ tires has been doubt, there are a few drivers that believe in the project. “I think these tires are the next great thing to hit our world of motorsports… I really do. We’ve been running these things since about June of last year, and our results have been outstanding. Just this year alone, we began testing on the third version of the MVP recaps, and absolutely dominated the Wild West Shootout with them, and then carried that momentum down to speed week… Well, until they took our tires from us…” Pierce quipped.

MVP Motorsports plans to launch their full line of recap tires later this month, despite the outright ban that most major series’ have already imposed. McBride stated, “If the cease and desist letters from Hoosier didn’t stop us, what makes you think an outright ban on us will? These are the next big thing… Trust me bro.”

Happy April Fool’s Day from everyone at MVP Motorsports!
