The Dunning-Kruger Effect | A Prevailing Issue in Modern Sniper Training

The Dunning-Kruger Effect is a cognitive bias where individuals with limited knowledge or skill overestimate their own competence. This overestimation arises because their lack of knowledge prevents them from understanding their lack of knowledge.

As you advance your understanding and become more proficient as a sniper, you will begin to understand how much you don't know. As such, confidence decreases and then increases as skill and awareness are gained.

There are some great sniper instructors out there, but greatly outnumbered by those that don’t understand their own lack of knowledge. Choose wisely!
