What is your name?
Dita Von Cheats

How long have you been a part of the league?
Since 2008, which is wild. My derby career can vote.

What made you join?
I had just lost my mom and really needed to find community.

What's your skater and/or official role in the league?
I've done a little bit of everything over the years. I'm currently the Vice President, a trainer, a skater (working on being a pivot for next season), and I'm also training to be a ref.

What is a completely normal thing that secretly gives you the 'ick'?
Mayonnaise. I can't stand the stuff. Just seeing it on a sandwich makes me lose my appetite.

Happy Whensday! In 2021, the Bombers were finally able to start skating together again--but we met up in pods, outside, based on location. No parking lot, outdoor rink, or trail was safe from these skaters who just wanted to get back to derby!

1. What is your name?
Echo

2. How long have you been a part of the league?
Since around 2012 - first as a skater, then announcer, and now as a referee

3. What made you join?
Was looking for community as I was new to the area and I’d always done sports

4. What's your skater and/or official role in the league?
Referee

5. If you were a ghost haunting a house, what mild inconvenience would you cause?
I would move small but often used items around. Got a wireless mouse that is always on the right? Now it’s on the left. Remote control last on the couch? Now it’s on the bookshelf. I may or may not have already done this to people before…

Summer might be over but the party never ends! It’s time to celebrate our September birthdays!

Loch Ness Quadster, like her namesake, comes out of nowhere and moves faster than you can see on the track. She jams through the pack as a creature of the night leaving stunned blockers in her wake. When she’s not wearing the jammer hat, she’s managing our spreadsheets, running multiple committees, and sitting on our board. We believe in our mythical Nessie! 🦕

401Slay uses her organizational skills to lead all of our non-skating officials with aplomb and confidence that ensures all of our games run smoothly. She also sits on our board helping us make important decisions that help drive us to success everyday. We couldn’t do it without you, Slay! ⏱️

John Ref Kennedy is a Swiss Army knife of a human, reffing our games, skating on our Fusion Bombs team, and fixing all of our problems from broken doors to fetching mustard for muscle cramps mid game. He would do anything for us and we’d do anything for him! 🦓

Trash Panda makes the trek from Fort Myers multiple times a week to skate with us! She’s a wiz with merchandising and helping us make the most of our stickers, shirts, and patches. She also happens to sell the cutest handmade jewelry we’ve seen, so keep an eye out for her at markets all over Southwest Florida! 🪴

Coccydynia takes care of us on the track and everyone else off the track. She’s a fierce competitor and a delight whenever we get to share the pack with her. We love you, PIA! 🩺

Introducing our next Roll Model of the week (though she needs no introduction), it's Tess Tickles!!!!!

What is your name? Tess Tickles

How long have you been a part of the league? Since 2016

What made you join? I’ve always played sports, and derby seemed like my next challenge. I’m glad a coworker got me involved because it’s my whole world now.

What's your skater and/or official role in the league? Skater for all 3 of our teams. I’m a blocker, but occasionally someone likes to put a random hat on my head.

If you were a kitchen appliance, which one would you be and why? An air fryer. Slightly overhyped, somehow involved in everything, and before you know it, you can’t imagine life without me.

What’s a hill you will absolutely die on? Dolly Parton is an absolute national treasure. There is no such thing as too much Dolly. 💕

What is a completely normal thing that secretly gives you the 'ick'? Washing dirty dishes. I know it’s a normal adult responsibility, but every soggy food scrap takes a year off my life.
