At Brian Mayes Karate our goal is to provide the most comprehensive, age-specific Martial Arts training available today. BMK Programs include an evolution of Martial Arts, fitness and educational training that targets the age-specific needs in children. We’ve taken the coolest parts of Martial Arts from a variety of styles and combined them into action-packed curriculums that help children build s

kills that they can apply into every area of their life. This means children ages 3 and up will have a blast in their Martial Arts classes while learning valuable skills that enable them to be the best they can possibly be. We also provide two cutting-edge adult training programs: Fitness Kickboxing and Martial Arts training. Both programs are strategically designed to help adults get in better shape while building a solid foundation in skills and abilities associated with Martial Arts. Our highly trained staff are dedicated to providing classes that are results-driven, while at the same time fun!

Meet Lucas

After suffering a stroke at just 5 years old that affected his right side, Lucas has continued to push forward on his healing journey.

Last week, he earned his Jr. Black Belt—an incredible milestone that reflects his hard work and determination. 💪

What Lucas is most proud of isn’t just his strength, but his confidence—especially when it comes to standing up for himself and others in the face of bullying.

If you struggle with quitting when things get hard, don't panic!!! Resilience is learned, just like every other skill!

The biggest transformation happens when you value your effort more than natural talent. That's where it grows.

How to apply this in training:
Acknowledge yourself for trying new things (even if they don't come naturally).
Celebrate showing up consistently to class, practice, work...
Recognize your best effort, even when you don't get the results you wanted.

Mistakes, failures, or less-than-perfect outcomes are just part of life.
Working through the disappointment helps us see it's NEVER the end of the world!! And quitting is NOT an option!
