A true legacy and Isshinryu mainstay. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone impacted by this loss.

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Grandmaster Nick Adler, who left us this afternoon following a sudden medical event.

Grandmaster Adler was a highly accomplished practitioner, teacher, and ambassador of Isshinryu Karate. Through decades of dedication, he impacted countless students, instructors, and friends across the martial arts community. His knowledge, humility, and unwavering commitment to preserving and sharing Isshinryu will leave a lasting legacy that extends far beyond the dojo.

While the martial arts world has lost one of its great leaders, our hearts are especially with his family during this difficult time. Please keep his sons Rick and Chris, his daughter Pam, his daughter-in-law Laura, his grandchildren Jake, Blake, and Leah, and the entire Adler family in your thoughts and prayers.

Grandmaster Adler will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, training with him, or simply calling him a friend. His influence will continue to live on through the generations of martial artists he inspired.

Rest in peace, Grandmaster Nick Adler.
Your legacy, your teachings, and your spirit will never be forgotten.

The Elkton YMCA dojo of the OIMA would
like to congratulate Mr. Peter Gordy on achieving his yellow belt.

The yellow belt signifies Mr. Gordy has successfully completed and tested on his basics and is now ready to begin kata and sparring.

Mr Gordy has worked very hard in obtaining this goal after being moved to an older class, proving hard work and dedication always pay off. The instructors are extremely proud of you.

With recent promotions in the Dojo, our instructors always take a moment to reflect on our teachings.

We believe, self-reflection and evaluation of course material is essential in ensuring we are carrying out the principles and beliefs of GM Cooling.

Success for a Sensei is not within his own achievement of rank but by the reflection of the students.

Annually, we have students write out their long and short term goals. This helps us hold ourselves accountable as well as the students.

It is humbling and rewarding to see students obtain their dreams.

It is with great pride and honor, the Elkton YMCA Dojo announces the promotions of Mr. Paul Westgate, Ms Brynnlee Anderson and Ms Phoebe Salazar-Maule, to the rank of Roku-Kyu (Orange Belt) in the Order of Isshinryu Martial Arts. These students have worked diligently in obtaining their goals, proving - nothing is ever given, it is earned and that hard work and dedication always pay off.

To make it even more memorable, Grand Master Ewing joined us for thier testing. Thank you Sir, it was an honor to have you and the other Black Belts for this special occasion.

Please join us in celebrating thier accomplishment.⛩
