Wild Ride Racing

Wild Ride Racing Wild Ride Racing started out as an ice oval race team, it has now added Asphalt into it's resume. Wild Ride has two racers, #11 Wyatt & #21 Peyton.

Both racers began racing at age 4, and so far have loved every minute of it! They enjoy making new friends, spending time together as a family, friendly competition, and of course earning new trophies for their shelves.

Wyatt killed it at the track tonight! Chipping during warm ups, & getting the 7th best time during qualifiers.

The first feature he had 4th position for the start. Hit 3rd once. Maintained 4th for about 5 laps, then slowly dropped down to 7th. He was holding 7th for the majority of the race, before he got tapped and spun out. For the restart he had to start in the back of the pack, and only had 7 laps to improve position. He managed to move up to 12th for the finish.

The second feature he had 12th position for the start. He raced his ass off. Gaining positions little by little. Passing on both the inside and outside. He finished the race in 8th.

This is the first race he has completed that ended with him in the top 10! It was so fun to see his number up on the tower tonight. For it only being his second year racing legends, this kid had made leaps and bounds. Iā€™m so proud of him!!!

Last race of the season ended up being our best. He finished 14th out of 19 in the first feature, and 14th out of 16 in the second feature. Wyatt put up his fastest lap time, and built up his confidence. He's so excited for next season.

Wild Ride Racing has added a new track to it's resume. From Ice to Asphalt, the Wildman has re-entered the race world. This past weekend Wyatt has his first race in a Legend Car.

Each season, at the end of our race season, the families of our club vote to award special year end awards to our racers.

The Jim Plain Memorial Award is our most prestigious award. It represents Sportsmanship, Skill, Respect, Determination and Discipline. This year, we had a tie. #5 Connor McPhee and #11 Wyatt Moren have been racing side by side for the past 8yrs.

The respect they have for each other and their fellow racers is incredible. The friendship they've built with one another far outweighs importance of beating one another.

Example, several years back Connor's motor blew up in his Vintage Kitty Cat. There was one race left, but the motor was too far gone to fix, and they knew they had to bow out. We had a spare motor at the time. Wyatt, without hesitation told Chad to loan our spare to the McPhee's so Connor could race, as he said, "It won't be the same without Connor by my side. " At the next race these two took to the track, side by side with our motor in Connor's sled. It was a neck in neck race, with Connor taking the checkered flag. He beat Wyatt with our motor. Wyatt was thrilled for Connor. We still laugh about it to this day.

I'm so very proud of both of these boys. They are both so deserving of this award. And knowing their peers voted for them is so touching. Congrats to you both!!!
