You know those days where you just can’t seem to stop comparing? Comparing yourself to the girl next to you at the barre, the person online at Starbucks who seems to have it all together, the instagram dancer who lands a perfect crazy turn set/has extension behind her head/ whose makeup is perfect/f̳i̳l̳l̳ ̳i̳n̳ ̳t̳h̳e̳ ̳b̳l̳a̳n̳k̳.

 In those moments, I find it incredibly helpful to stop and repeat any of the above mantras. 

The truth is, the dance world is 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥, but it is expanding every day. You 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 a place in this world. You just have to take it and realize it will 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 look like someone else’s place. You have a unique perspective. You have valuable assets. You just have to keep reminding yourself of that. You are here for a purpose. You may not have discovered it yet, but keep going and you’ll find it.
