Good Sunday morning, all! Wanted to let you know that Mount Airy, our beloved home town, is in the news this am for the severe flooding that our town received.

We have a few hours of cleanup to do today but we're happy to say that we were NOT flooded. We do have a section of our building that got 1/4 inch of water that swamped one corner of the room, but quick response from our team last night diverted water in time to prevent larger flooding.

The rumor mill says the rivers crested at 29 feet last night. We are aware of some businesses that had multiple feet (!) of water standing in their buildings. Today will be filled with checking on our neighbors and seeing how we can help them.

Be careful out there.

I want to thank all of our customers for your patience and continued support of our business. On Tuesday we experienced a "100 year storm" that resulted in many inches of rain falling in a 30 minute to 1 hour period. We were blessed with 5+ inches of water standing through every part of our operations.

We have spent the week working day and night to set up operations after the storm, and our sewing operations were moved to a new, smaller location. Sewing will resume Monday. Armory was blessed to be a department where everything was already elevated, but was understandably impacted.

If you have any questions or concerns about your orders, let us know. We are operational, but understandably delayed for a few days.

Shipping changes have been made to our site. You will now find that out shipping charges are 0 at checkout. There is also a popup on our site that explains the changes.

When you place an order, you will pay $0 for shipping. We will collect the items for your order, estimate shipping box size and weight, and send you the invoice for your shipping. Once that invoice is paid, we will ship the order.

We have been investigating an issue with our site where shipping costs have apparently taken on a mind of their own. While we have not resolved it, we were curious what you think about allowing orders to be placed with $0 shipping at checkout and simply invoicing the shipping when the order is processed to get a realistic cost....at least until Square decides to be reasonable with their pricing.

Please let us know your thoughts on this change.
